  • To know the initial occurrence and subsequent build-up of aphids population on chilli crop in relation to weather parameters, the field experiments were carried out from 2010-2012 at Horticultural Research station, Lam, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Seasonal incidence of aphids was recorded from leaves and fruits at weekly intervals during the crop growth period. Based on the two years data, the results revealed that the infestation and severity of aphid population were highly influenced by weather parameters.

  • Seasonal incidence studies of Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) infesting chickpea were undertaken during 2016-17 at Instructional farm, Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, J.A.U, Junagadh. A dominant invertebrate animal, insect, have capacity to change their behavior and habitat with the changing of the environment and so, it is necessary to see the impact of changing pattern in abiotic factors on H. armigera on chickpea so seasonal incidence with provide information regarding this utility.

  • Studies on seasonal incidence of aphid (Brevicoryne brassicae L.), infesting cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata L.) work was carried out at College of Agriculture, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.) during 2015-16 and 2016-17. The Brevicoryne brassicae L. damage was observed with a varying degree of infestation. The peak population of aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae L., was observed 172.5 / 20 plants and 140.45/ 20 plants in month of Febuary during both years (2015-16 and 2016-17), respectively.

  • The estimation of crop yield before harvest helps in different policy making in an order for storage, distribution, marketing, pricing, import-export etc. Crop productions depend on several factors such as weather factors, plant characters and agricultural inputs. The present study was carried out to develop the appropriate statistical model for estimation of rice yield before harvest in the year 2018-19. This research was done on plant biometrical characters along with farmer’s appraisal.

  • The study had been carried out in the semi-arid region of India at Agronomy farm, S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner (Rajasthan) during Kharif 2018. The insect pests, aphid (Aphis craccivora Koch) and leafhopper (Empoasca kerri Pruthi) were observed as major sucking insect pests infesting on groundnut crop. The aphid and leafhopper population commenced in the last week of July and reached to its peak in the second week of September, when the maximum temperature, minimum temperature, relative humidity and rainfall were 30.0 oC, 21.0 oC, 78% and 1.6 mm, respectively.

  • Climate change has emerged as the most serious environmental challenges. It is necessary to evaluate its impacts on climate-vulnerable development sectors, such as agriculture. Human impacts on environment have resulted in altered environmental conditions that influence changes in abundance and diversity of insect pests. In the present study, an attempt was made to determine the impact of changes in the climatic conditions on grape crop in Tasgaon tehsil. Various weather parameters like rainfall, temperature and relative humidity were analyzed in the region.

  • Remote sensing has several advantages in the field of agronomical research purpose. The assessment of agricultural crop canopies has provided valuable insights in the agronomic parameters. Remote sensing play a significant role in crop classification, crop monitoring and yield assessment. The use of remote sensing is necessary in the field of agronomical research purpose because they are highly vulnerable to variation in soil, climate and other physico- chemical changes.
