Herbicide tolerance is an important trait that allows effective weed management in wheat crops. Genetic knowledge of metribuzin tolerance in wheat is needed to develop new cultivars for the industry. Here, we evaluated metribuzin tolerance in a recombinant inbred line (RIL) mapping population derived from Synthetic W7984 and Opata 85 over two consecutive years to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) contributing to the trait.

Aluminum (Al) toxicity is a serious factor restricting crop productivity in acid soil, and Al is the major cause of phytotoxicity. However, the role of Al toxicity in interprimer binding site (iPBS) polymorphism, genomic instability, and DNA methylation has not been fully investigated. In the current study, the effects of different Al concentrations on iPBS polymorphism, genomic instability, and DNA methylation were investigated in seedlings of three wheat cultivars: Haymana 79, Kılçıksız, and Bezostaja 1.

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is one of the world’s most important grain crops. The amyloplast, a specialized organelle, is the major site for starch synthesis and storage in wheat grain. Understanding the metabolism in amyloplast during grain development in wheat cultivars with different quality traits will provide useful information for potential yield and quality improvement.

The genetic diversity and gene pool characteristics must be clarified for efficient genome-wide association studies, genomic selection, and hybrid breeding. The aim of this study was to evaluate the genetic structure of 509 wheat accessions representing registered varieties and advanced breeding lines via the highdensity genotyping-by-sequencing approach.

Stripe rust (yellow rust) is a significant disease for bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) worldwide. A genome-wide association study was conducted on 240 Chinese wheat cultivars and elite lines genotyped with the wheat 90 K single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) arrays to decipher the genetic architecture of stripe rust resistance in Chinese germplasm.

Wheat blast, caused by Magnaporthe oryzae Triticum (MoT) pathotype, is a global threat to wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production. Few blast resistance (R) genes have been identified to date, therefore assessing potential sources of resistance in wheat is important.

Recently, abiotic stress like salinity, drought and temperature are the severe problems to worldwide wheat production, mostly in arid and semiarid areas. A feasible solution is breeding for salt-tolerant cultivars of wheat, while the presence of genetic variation is a prerequisite for genetic improvement. In the present investigation, an experiment was conducted to estimate the nature and magnitude of genetic diversity in improved varieties of bread wheat during Rabi, 2010-11.

Sowing of wheat in left optimum moisture through zero tillage technology not only provides a good germination but also improves the soil fertility, soil physical properties and saves time hence increases net return on sustained basis. It causes minimal disturbance of soil structure and texture ultimately increases size of soil aggregates. In the present experimental study, genotypes and tillage effect was observed.

Wheat is an important cereal crop of world including India. The major problems of drought condition in India therefore wheat have a low productivity, so we would like to develop drought tolerant crop varieties through help of various verities. In which present study we have used ten wheat genotypes of diverse genetic background with popular cultivar of India.

In bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L. em. Thell.), development of thermal stress tolerant cultivars and realization of potential at yield in hot climate is enshrined goal of our breeding program. By keeping the above fact in view, the present study was conducted in two environments i.e. normal and late sown condition with 10 diverse genotypes, their 45 F1’s and F2’s to magnify the yield level of wheat in high temperature areas by selecting stress tolerant parents and cross combinations.

Stripe rust (also called yellow rust) is a common and serious fungal disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici. The narrow genetic basis of modern wheat cultivars and rapid evolution of the rust pathogen have been responsible for periodic and devastating epidemics of wheat rust diseases.
