Attitude influences an individual's choice of action and responses to any services, incentives and challenges. The attitude of the farmers and farm women towards front line extension system of ICAR has a direct bearing on the performance of the system.

ICTs (Information and Communication Technology) usage in third world countries is playing a vital role for the enhancement of farmer’s business towards agriculture. Recently, communication through ICTs is considered very important in enhancing farmers’ access to better understand agricultural position. Farming communities appreciate ICTs as easy, fast and convenient way to communicate and get prompt answers of respective problems. Nowadays, the ICTs have generated an opportunity for the farmers specially to get the information about marketing and weather.

Krishi Vigyan Kendras or Farm Science Centres have been established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in all districts of Tamil Nadu. The trust areas of KVKs are refinement and demonstration of technologies, and training of farmers, farm women, rural youth and extension functionaries. Imparting trainings in agriculture and allied fields for the rural youth is one of its mandates. Effective training is considered as an important factor in determining the efficiency of an organization which depends upon the capability of its trainees.

The present study attempts to view the profile of tribal women farmers of Uttarakhand and their opinion towards farming as an occupation. The study was purposively conducted in Uttarakhand. From the state two districts and from each district two blocks were randomly selected. From each block two villages were selected randomly. And from each village 25 respondents were randomly selected. To rank the opinion at aggregate level, Garrettt’s Ranking Technique was used.
