This paper investigates the effects of different factors on employment engagement in Vietnam industries. The results indicate that work-life balance and work stress positively impact on employee engagement. However, our results do not confirm that working condition could positively impact on employee engagement nor did we find any evidence to believe that relationship with supervisor could positively impact on employee engagement.

Vegetable transplanting is a laborious, time consuming and drudgery prone field operation task when performed manually by farm women for almost all crops grown. This directs for interventions in terms of improved technologies to relieve women from high energy demands, time spent and associated drudgery particularly for transplanting activity. To resolve this problem Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kalikiri, conducted on farm trial on use of easy transplanter to prove the efficacy of improved technology in reducing drudgery among women engaged in transplanting activity in tomato seedlings.

Nitrogen has been associated to lettuce fresh weight accumulation. In this way, different bio stimulants formulations containing amino acids have been commercially offered although the yield increase has not been properly supported. The aim of this work was a) to quantify the changes in lettuce fresh weight accumulation and the physiological mechanism involved in plants sprayed with different amino acid solutions and (b) to characterize the responses to root restrictions under nursery with non-limited nitrogen supply.

The ÔMediterraneanÕ variant of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is due to the C563CT point mutation, leading to replacement of Ser with Phe at position 188, resulting in acute haemolysis triggered by oxidants. Previous work has shown increased formation of altered aspartate residues in membrane proteins during cell ageing and in response to oxidative stress in normal erythrocytes. These abnormal residues are specifically recognized by the repair enzyme L-isoaspartate (D-aspartate) protein O-methyltransferase (PCMT; EC 2.1.1.77). ...

The adjustable keyboard surfaces in cluster workstations also fix the position of the computer, making the workstation less flexible for other tasks. The optimum positioning of the VDU monitor to minimise screen reflections and background glare is also inhibited. Convenient height adjustment for the whole of the work surface should be aimed for.

Today’s public sculpture will become tomorrow’s historic monu- ments. Just as communities work now to preserve their existing sculp- ture and monuments, future generations will be preserving the art created today. The problems that have affected collections of older works will afflict new creations as well. Positive public support is crucial to the survival of outdoor sculpture and can be heightened through education and community participation.

The point stabilization problem can be formulated in a local or in a global sense, the latter meaning that we allow for initial congurations that are arbi- trarily far from the destination. The same is true also for path following and trajectory tracking, although locality has two dierent meanings in these tasks. For path following, a local solution means that the controller works properly provided we start suciently close to the path; for trajectory tracking, close- ness should be evaluated with respect to the current position of the reference robot....

We have discussed earlier that the slipping of a belt or rope is a common phenomenon, in the transmission of motion or power between two shafts. The effect of slipping is to reduce the velocity ratio of the system. In precision machines, in which a definite velocity ratio is of importance (as in watch mechanism), the only positive drive is by gears or toothed wheels. A gear drive is also provided, when the distance between the driver and the follower is very small.

Working with friends is always a pleasure, but commenting on an outstanding product of friends is a greater pleasure. I have known Professors Aman Khan and W. Bartley Hildreth for many years. I now even occupy the same position at LSU that Professor Hildreth previously occupied. Over those years, I worked with them on several projects and found a great deal of joy in contributing with them to an improving literature of public budgeting and financial management.

There is ample scientific evidence that working (and other organizational) life and its conditions are powerful determinants of health, for better or for worse. The relationship works both ways. Work affects health but health, more often than not, also affects a person’s productivity and earning capacity as well as his or her social and family relationships. Needless to say, this holds true for all aspects of health, both physical and mental (Levi, 2002).

Capital derives from accumulated labour. The product of labour becomes capital when it is acquired by another producer. ―Capital and labour merge into one another.‖ Thus, worked land becomes capital. Over time, the accumulation of capital concentrates itself in the hands of the capitalist or owners’ class. Lending (leasing, rent, tenant farming, granting exploitation rights, investment companies, etc) is the process by which capital passes from the hands of the capitalist or owners’ class to those of the labourer or industrialist.

“Why me?”, “It is hard to stay focused”, “I am overloaded with work”, “I even have no time to breath!” or “My work is boring and degrading”… These are the phrases we usually hear around the workplace or even from ourselves. They are accompanied by headaches, insomnia…The sign of depression –“stress” in modern life, appears when work and life tense us up and make us tired. For the positions that are constantly put under pressure such as the manager, securities brokerage ..., when a particular decision can result in either success or failure of the whole organization, the stress can...
