Yield of soybean as influenced

Nitrogen is mainly applied to soil as broad casting method. Soil application of nitrogen as broadcasting often results in lower efficiency of concerned nutrients. The broad casted nitrogen undergoes several changes and losses which occur through leaching and Himalayan Region (II) and subtropical zone (NEH-4) of Manipur.

A field experiment was conducted during kharif seasons of 2013 and 2014 at Livestock Farm, JNKVV, Jabalpur (M.P.). Eight treatments comprising of four doses of propaquizafop + imazethapyr mixture (47+66, 50+70, 53+74 and 56+78 g/ha), alone application of propaquizafop (75 g/ha) and imazethapyr (100 g/ha), hand weeding twice (20 and 40 DAS) including weedy check were laidout in randomized block design with three replications.

A field experiment comprising recommended package of practices (RPP), RPP + soil (2.5 and 5.0 kg ha-1 at 10 DAS), foliar (0.5 and 1.25 % at 45 DAS) application of solubor and combination of both soil and foliar application was conducted during kharif 2017 at the MARS, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka to study the boron nutrition effect on growth, nodulation, yield attributes and yield of soybean in boron deficient Vertisol. A Randomized Complete Block Design was used for the experiment with three replications.

A field experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of sulphur and phosphorus application on yield and N, P and K contents of soybean grown on Vertisol. It was found that increasing application of sulphur and phosphorus, singly as well as in combination, significantly increased the grain yield and contents of N, P and K over control. The interaction of S x P exhibited a strong synergistic relationship in soybean nutrition grown on deficient soil.

The cultivated species of Peanut (Arachis hypogea) and Soybean (Glycine max) belong to family Leguminosae. Leguminous crops have been cultivated since ancient times. Globally, Peanut and Soybean are the two most important oil-yielding leguminous crops. Yields of both Peanut and Soybean are lower in Asia than in developed countries. These low yields are due to a number of biotic and abiotic constraints. Hence, in order to increase crop yield per unit area, largely chemical fertilizers are used.

The present study was conducted with the objectives to estimate genetic parameters in M3 generation of soybean. The experiment was conducted at the farm of Agricultural Botany Section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur during kharif 2017 in M3 generation. 62 mutants along with two checks (TAMS-38 and JS-335) were evaluated in M3 generation in three replications of which only 20 survived.

An experiment was conducted during Kharif 2012 and 2013 at Krishi Vigyana Kendra, Janwada, Bidar, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, Karnataka, India. To assess the growth, yield and economics of soybean as influenced by the application of plant residues under rainfed situation of Northern Karnataka. Results revealed that, application of RDF (40:80:25 NPK kg/ha + 12 kg ZnSO4/ha + 20 kg sulphur/ha) + plant residues at 3.0 tonnes/ha recorded significantly (p=0.

A study on variability, heritability and genetic advance in 13 genotypes of soybean were carried out for yield and yield component traits. Observations on 11 characters were recorded. Analysis of variance revealed highly significant differences among the genotypes for the all the characters. The range was maximum for plant height (39.27- 77.73) followed by number of pods per plant (35.87-61.40).
