The electrocatalytic conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) into valuable chemicals presents a promising strategy for closing the carbon cycle. In this study, we synthesized zinc (Zn) catalysts through hydrothermal methods using either polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) or cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as stabilizing agents. These catalysts proved highly efficient in converting CO2 into carbon monoxide (CO).

Zinc oxide nanowires (ZnO NWs) were prepared and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy analyses. ZnO NWs were then employed as heterogeneous and recyclable catalyst for green synthesis of some new and known bispyrazole derivatives through a tandem Knoevenagel and Michael type addition reaction of aromatic aldehyde and pyrazolone. The synthetic method is operationally simple and affords product with high yields in short reaction times.

In wastewater treatment, scientific and practical models utilizing numerical computational techniques such as artificial neural networks (ANNs) can significantly help to improve the process as a whole through adsorption systems. In the modeling of the adsorption efficiency for heavy metals from wastewater, some kinetic models have been used such as pseudo first-order and second-order. The present work develops an ANN model to forecast the adsorption efficiency of heavy metals such as zinc, nickel, and copper by extracting experimental data from three case studies.

In this study, biogenic copper and zinc oxide nanoparticles (G-ZnONPs and G-CuONPs) were synthesized by the green synthesis method using Malva parviflora L. (Millow) leaf extract and the obtained nanoparticles were characterized in detail with UVVis, FTIR, SEM, XRD. The antibacterial properties of the synthesized nanoparticles on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria were investigated and it was found that the nanoparticles had high antimicrobial activity in the results of the experiments.

Phosphorus (P) deficiency limits crop production worldwide. Crops differ in their ability to acquire and utilise the P available. The aim of this study was to determine root traits (root exudates, root system architecture (RSA), tissue-specific allocation of P, and gene expression in roots) that (a) play a role in P-use efficiency and (b) contribute to large shoot zinc (Zn) concentration in Brassica oleracea.

In this study, the removal of Zn(II) ions from aqueous solution was studied using Fe/Mn modified diatomite sample at different adsorption parameters such as contact initial metal ions concentration, dosage of Fe/Mn-Diatomite and ionic strength Na2CO3 on ionic Zn 2+ adsorption capacity of diatomite modified. The residual zinc concentration in the solution was determined using flame atomic absorption spectroscopy.

In the present study collected twenty (20) direct sown paddy rhizosphere soil samples from four districts of Andhra Pradesh and recorded their geographical position of collected soil samples. From that thirty two (32) Zinc Solubilizing Bacteria (ZnSB) isolated by using zinc phosphate [Zn3(PO4)2] as a insoluble source of zinc in the trismineral salts media. Zinc solubilizing isolates coded based on their soil sample collected geographical position, recorded the morphological, cultural characteristics of ZnSB.

To achieve global food security, rising agricultural productivity through modern breeding strategies is of prime interest. A variety of biotic and abiotic stresses influences both productivity and crop quality, and it is essential for growing crops with improved adaptability, high productivity and resistance to these biotic/abiotic stresses. Availability of genome sequences helps to improve crop production by using different biotechnological tools.

Plant nutrition plays a major role in quantitative and qualitative crop production in bringing sustainability and plants require seventeen essential elements for their normal growth and development. Among these, those elements required smaller in quantity is called micronutrients (Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn, B, Cl, Mo and Ni). Micronutrients are essentially as important as macronutrients to have better growth, yield and quality in plants.

Distributions of different zinc (Zn) forms in seven blocks of rice-wheat growing soils of Jammu region were studied. Understanding the Zn distribution in soil is important for efficient and effective management of the fertilizers recourses and to achieve a higher productivity rate. Sequential extraction scheme was used to fractionate Zn into Water Soluble + Exchangeable (WSEX), Organic Complexed (OCx), Amorphous sesquioxide (AMOX), Crystalline Sesquioxide (CRYoX) and Residual zinc (Res Zn).

Zinc (Zn) is a micronutrient, which is involved in activating many physiological and biochemical processes. Inadequate supply of Zn affects crop growth, development and in turn yields. Most of us depend on agriculture based foods which are grown under inadequate Zn supply and hence we get less of Zn as recommended. A few strategic approaches are being adapted to overcome inadequacy of Zn in food. Biofortification is one of the best strategies to enhance the Zn content in the food grain.
