A comparative study of virulence factors of Escherichia coli isolated from urinary tract infections with that of Intestinal Escherichia coli Isolated from apparently healthy adults

This study has been under taken to know the virulence factors associated with E. coli causing Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) in comparison to intestinal commensal E. coli. Out of 600 UTI patients 100 had E. coli isolates which were studied for virulence factors. A total of 100 isolates of E coli from stool samples of apparently healthy individuals were included as controls.
