Breast cancer is highly heterogeneous, suggesting that small but relevant subsets have been underrecognized. Rare and mainly triple-negative breast cancers (TNBCs) were recently found to exhibit tuft cell-like expression profiles, including POU2F3, the tuft cell master regulator.
