Assessment of genotoxic and cytogenetic effects of aflatoxin B1 in mouse bone marrow cells

Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is a widespread mycotoxin produced by toxicogenic Aspergillus species. AFB1 has been reported to cause harmful health effects, such as cancers and abnormal development and reproduction, in animals and humans. The current study was carried out to evaluate the genotoxic aspects of Aflatoxin B1 in the bone marrow cells obtained from Swiss albino mice, using chromosomal aberrations (CA), mitotic index (MI), and micronuclei (MN) formation as toxicological end points.
