The relevance of functional amino acids for taurocholate transport by the sodium-dependent taurocholate cotrans-porting polypeptide Ntcp was determined by site-directed mutagenesis. cRNAfrom28 single-pointsmutants of the rat liver Ntcp clone was expressed in Xenopus laevisoocytes.
