----Iris Chinese opera is a classical performance art in both modern and ancient China. It contains several essential elements, for example the make -up of the face which we call ‘lian pu’, the elegant hand-made dress which always pierces with phoenix or Chinese dragon (both phoenix and Chinese dragon are considered to be saint animal in ancient China, people believe that they would give people happy life), special high-heel shoes which are worn by both women and men, and so on. I will introduce the essential factor in Chinese opera in the following paragraph. 1. Face make-up (lian pu);”lian pu” is painted with several kinds of color worn by most actors in Chinese opera. In Chinese opera, the face-make-up is very critical; hence the major color of face-make-up always suggests some basic information about the person. (For instance, their personality, the character of the people and even their fate.) “Lian pu” is loved by a lot of people. Eventually, only the face-make-up turns up as a prevailing art all around the world. The color of “lian pu” means a lot of information about the people. 1. Red covers most of someone’s face in Chinese opera which means the person is faithful, brave and heroic. 2. Paint someone `s face majority by black suggests that the guy is frank, brave and very brilliant. 3. Purple is the most important color of someone’s face in Chinese opera which means that guy is a straightforward officer, he never flatters his boss.
He just does what he considers to be right. 4. When yellow plays the most important role in someone’s face it is a hint that the one is intrepid but somewhat bad-tempered. 5. Green is the main actor of someone’s face that suggests that one is brave but precipitant. 6. When you see someone in Chinese opera with blue face that means the guy has strong-will and at the same time is very crafty. 2. Dress: the dress in Chinese opera is a special dress with extraordinary long sleeves and some elegant embroidery which we never wear in our daily life. In the performance of Chinese opera, actresses usually use the long sleeves to do some special dance, show the emotion of the character, and what’s more hide the face from other people which is very important to the ancient woman. Some special dress appeared in the Chinese opera which was used by some female general. Usually, this kind of dress is made by yellow and red fabric and has some
special decoration. 3. Shoes Shoes in Chinese opera are very different from the shoes in other perform art. Actually, actors usually wear a special high-heel boot while performing. They are in shoes like this for some reasons. First of all, the one who wears these kinds of shoes is dignitary. They need the special high-heel boot to show his status. In addition, by using this kind of
special boots, actor can do some unique performance, for example spinning with the heavy shoes or jumping with motion. You can see these special shoes in the picture. The shoes for actresses are some kinds of high-heel too. However, these high-heel shoes are definitely different from the high-heel shoes in your imagination. The heel is located in the middle of the foot. It is pretty hard to walk with these shoes; hence the heel in the middle sabotages the balance of people. But, the unstable situation forces the actress to swage slightly which was considered to be elegant in ancient China. I will show you the picture of these shoes. Besides the unique customs above mentioned, Chinese opera has some dramatic and attractive elements. However, I will introduce in the future .As a Chinese, I dare not to say I know Chinese opera. It is really a complicated but charming art. I think all of you will fall in love with Chinese opera once you start to try to know it.
Indian Music ----Minal Indian music has special appeal not only within the country but also throughout the world. The traditional pattern of Indian music has survived throughout the centuries of modern civilization. It has entertained not only the common people of India but lovers of music and art all over the world. We may find various regional styles in Indian music but the basic unity, i.e. of ‘Ragas’ and ‘Talas’ concept is uniformity prevalent no wonder Indian has its influence on the musical pattern in other parts of the world. The Afghan music, the Persian music, the Russian music and even the Western music carry the impact of Indian Ragas and Talas. The distinguishing feature of the Indian Music has to stay and entertain the folk music and dance in different regions of the country. Indian classical music has its unique place in all kinds of music because it is based on ‘Ragas’. They are the scales and melodies that provide the foundation for the performance. The Indian classical music allows much greater degree of ‘personalization’ of the performance. Each performance of a raga is a “trancey” state to broadcast a mood of ecstasy. The main difference between Indian classical music and Western music is that Indian ‘ragas’ are not composed by a composer but were created via a lengthy evolutionary process over the centuries. Thus they do not represent the mind of the composer but a universal idea of the world. In other words, they transmit not personal but impersonal emotions.
Another difference is that Indian music is monadic, not polyphonic. Indian ragas are assigned to specific time of the day or night and to specific seasons. Many ragas share the same scale and many rags share the same melodic theme. There are thousands of ragas but six are considered fundamental. They are : Bhairav Malkhanus Hindol Dipak Megh Shree Like the western music, Indian music servers as the best accompaniment to classical dances and dramas of India. Dance combines in itself action song, mime and rhythm. A classical dance, like Indian classical music is dominated by the Tala concept so the importance of music is dancing. As we know that Indian music is based on melody that is built on Raga and Tala concepts. In spirit it is individualistic and the concept of the phrases, in the past was largely devotional. There are two major system of classical music the Hindustani system and Karnatak system the difference between them are more in practice than their theoretical foundation. Both come from the famous Bharata’s Natya Shastra and Sarangdeva’s Sangeet Ratnakar. The Hindustani system prevalent over the whole of north and east India exposed to Persian influence.
The most famous Indian Instrument, however, is Veena. It is celebrated in the epics and other ancient books. It has been described as the companion of Saraswati, the Goddess of Leaning. If consist of a flat-board strings. The instrument is played by a deflection of the string which is played by the right hand the notes made with the left. Among the other string instruments are the sitar. The flute is the most common wind instrument inseparably associated with Lord Krishna. The Nagaswaram is in the south and occasions like marriages and festivals. The Nagaswaram is used in the temple precessions in south Indian. A great variety of horns and bangles are in use in folk and tribal music, while brass instruments of the Western type are in vogue only in military and police bands. We find the impact of Indian classical music on all other kinds of music of India. If we talk about the music we must recognize the Indian Film industry. The film industry of India supported music by according reverence to classical music while utilizing the western orchestration to support India melodies. The biggest form of Indian pop music is films, or songs from Indian musical films. The rock music ‘scene’ in India is extremely small when compared to filmi or fusion music scenes but in recent year it has also got the popularity. India has a very rich tradition of folk music. There are endless varieties of in India there due to the cultural diversities. In India there is a tendency to lump folk music with tribal music. Folk music is the reflection of the large Indian society while the tribal music reflects the cultural. Tribal and folk music not taught in the same way that Indian classical music is taught. They throw lights on the cultural conditions of such music in village is learned almost by osmosis. From childhood the music is heard and imbibed. People come across numerous public activities that allow the villagers to participate and practice and hone their skills. Anything which pleases us should be practiced if it is fruitful and right. This has been remained the tendency of the people. This theory possesses the roots of Indian music, especially the folk music. We find various kinds of varieties in music are different states of Indian also.
- Punjab state is famous for ‘Bhangra’ it is dance oriented music form. This folk music of Punjab has become a pop-sensation in U.K. and North America. - Maharashatra state is known for ‘Lavni’. Traditionally the songs are sung by female but occasionally male artists also sing Lavanis. The dance associate with it is known as Tamasha. - Rajasthan is known for its Rajasthani dance associated with Rajasthan music. - The glorious Gujarat state is widely known for its folk music and dance-‘Garba’. They play ‘Garba’ by using ‘Dandia’ or ‘Dandiya’ means small sticks of wood. It is played in a huge mass. A festival is celebrated every year which runs for nine days, is called ‘Navratri’. The biggest festival of dance occurs then. The music in India is an indispensable component of function such as wedding, engagement and births. Many songs are associated with planting and harvesting & other agricultural activities. Even for the educational purpose also folk music is used.
‘Bhajans’ has a special place in Indian society. They are related with religious and ethics of life. Complex spiritual truths are portrayed in the simple language through ‘Bhajans’. People recite then and pass it on through generation to generation. The music generally provides the peace of mind to the society. Peace of mine is the essence of any healthy society. That’s why music therapy has emerged. Various experiments have proved that music can also play a vital role in healing or curing many diseases also. Day by day music therapy has also got stressed tension can successfully be cured by using this therapy. People have connected the music with science and medicine and produced enormous benefits from them. Thus, the musical history of India is quite glorious and in spite of some western influences in both instrumental and vocal, the Indian music will be ever shining because of the qualities of its content and structure. The present filmi and rap music is influencing the youth more and more but the classical music themes cannot be ignored yet for a long time to come.
HIPA MUSIC SINGER STARS ----Coco Hipa music is a special style of music, which comes from Brooklyn and Queens 1970s. It was created by African American in New York because of their poor lives. They express their minds and opinions, their happiness, their anger etc through hipa music, but the most important thing is that they are crazy with hipa music. The words that they sing depend on their moods; they can sing any words they like. I think they feel freedom when they sing and listen to hipa! Hipa is a kind of spirit culture, it not only contains music but also other factors, such as rapping, DJ, doodle, hipa dancing etc. But in this newspaper I will only introduce some famous hipa singer stars. EMINEM. 8 MILE. STAN Eminem is a famous rapper, he was born in US 1972 and move to Detroit when he was 12 years old. He is a white person which is scarce in hipa singer stars. STAN is a name of EMINEM’s song, and it is also a name of a man’s one long story. Stan is a fan of Eminem, he likes Eminem very much, he always go to see Eminem’s vocal concert, and buys all Eminem’s CDs. He wrote a letter and sent a CD which he recorded himself to Eminem. He has been waiting for the letter from Eminem for a long time, but he got nothing. So he decided to drive to Eminem’s place. Unfortunantely, there is an accident on the road, Stan’s car fell over and dropped into the river on a bridge and Stan will not see Eminem forever. In fact, Eminem had already sent another letter to Stan, but the letter is on the way. Some days later, Stan’s family received a letter from Eminem, but Stan can’t read it. Eminem heard of this story by TV, and he created the song STAN for him. The song makes the person feel sad.
JIN. FREESTYLE BATTLE. A LETTER TO OBAMA Jin, yellow, Chinese, rapper. Jin is an America citizen of Chinese origin, his hipa continues winning the continuous 8 weeks on the Friday Freestyle Battle Show. He is the most famous Asian hipa singer star in the world. He has a lot of good works, such as ABC, It is hiphop, HK Superstar, Speak Cant Read, Ape Shall Never kill Ape, Yum Dum Cha, Wai wai ome Bin Wai, Instan Tnoodles, 1997 and so on.
Jin also sings a song named A LETTER TO OBAMA to support Obama in the President campaign. AVIATION AND HIS YOU WERE MY EVERYTHING Maybe a lot of pure rappers don’t think Aviation is a real rapper, but his song YOU WERE MY EVERYTHING is so nice that no language coule describe it. These are the words of his song. This goes out to someone that was Once the most important person in my life I didn’t realize it at the time I can’t forgive myself for the way I treated you so I don’t really expect you to either It’s just...
