Enumeration of gut bacterial population in Eisenia fetida exposed to chlorpyrifos

The present study was carried out to envisage the impact of chlorpyrifos on gut bacterial population of E. fetida. The LC50 of chlorpyrifos was analyzed by 24 hour paper contact toxicity test as recommended by OECD. The LC50 of chlorpyrifos for 24 hours is 0.25%. Then the worms were exposed to the LC50 dose, one dose lower (0.125%) and one dose higher (0.375%) of chlorpyrifos.
