  1. UNIT 15: WOMEN IN SOCIETY LESSON 5: E. LANGUAGE FOCUS I. Aims: Students practice pronouncing the rising tune. Do exercises using phrasal verbs. II. Knowledge: Students know more phrasal verbs III. Materials: Textbook handout. IV. Procedure: Content Work A. Warm- up: T gives some situations and students make questions. Situation 1: You are waiting for the letter from your friend. When you see a postman, what will you aks him? → Do I have any letters today? Group work Situation 2: Your friend have just come back from a long journey. What will you aks them? → Did you have a good holiday? T calls some students to read these questions. T introduces the new lesson: The rising tune B. New lesson: * Pronunciation: Task 1: T guides students to read the rising tune at the end of the sentences. Students practice reading in pairs . Take note : The rising tune is used in Ye s- No questions. Pair work Task 2: Students read through the sentences in the textbook. T plays the tape . Students repeat after the tape. T corrects the mistakes. * Grammar and vocabulary: Phrasal verbs. T lets students discuss to list out phrasal verbs they know. T checks and writes on the board the answers. T takes note about phrasal verbs: - Some phrasal verbs are transitive and separable: Bring up Think over Clear up Look up Pick up Give up Carry out Put off Give away Try out Make up Turn down Find out Work out Leave out - Some phrasal verbs are transitive and inseparable: Join in Deal with Call for Come across Go over Pick on Live on Get at Look around Make for Ask after Run into Look into Come into Stand for * Practice: Exercise 1: Students read the the verbs in the book and try to understand the meaning . Students work in pairs to do the exercise. T check students ‘ answers. Other students give comment. T give feedback. Pair work Keys:
