A substantial parameter that links plants to the soil is microbial biomass. Measurement of the biologically-active fractions of the soil organic matter, is a good way to quantify the quality of the soil. In the study, the impact of canopy and seasonal dynamics on different forest soil microbial community composition in Mid Hills of Himachal Pradesh were investigated in the forest floor under a stand of five forest ecosystems.
