Introducing contextual teaching and learning as a transition from textbook-based curriculum to the national curriculum

The teaching of speaking in English as a foreign language (EFL) classes in the Province of Aceh did not rely on the suggested techniques and methods. This teacher-designed technique, which was mainly textbook-based, has left an unpleasant learning experience among students.
