Microwave-assisted claisen-schmidt condensation between Arylmethyl ketones and Aryl aldehydes catalyzed by Cu(otf)2 under solvent-free conditions: Synthesis of chalcones

The recent development in so called ‘‘green chemistry’’ shows that alternative methods of carrying out chemical harmfulness of classical reactions. Besides using less catalyst and less or without solvent, one of the most popular and interesting approaches in this field is employing the microwave energy for conducting many chemical transformations. The interaction of the matter with such kinds of electromagnetic waves results in higher speed of heating [17], much shorter reaction time and very often the higher selectivity of desired products.
