Unit 2: Making arrangements Period 10: Lesson 3: Listen. I. Objectives: - To help Ss develop speaking skill. - After the lesson, Ss will be able to complete a telephone message by listening. II. Preparation: - Textbook, cassette and tape. III. Teaching procedure: 1. Organization: 2. Oral test: - Homework correction. 3. New lesson: A. Warm- up: Telephone transmitting:
- Divide Ss into two teams. - Choose six volunteers from teams. - The volunteers stand in two lines. The T shows the first S in eac h line a telephone number. - He whispers it to the next person in his line. The second whisper to the third......until the last one. - The last S shouts out the number, if it is as the same as the number T shows, that team wins the match. B. Presentation: * Pre- listening: - Ask Ss to look at the form of the telephone message on P.21 and set the scene. - Have Ss guess the message. - Let Ss work in pairs. - Give feedback. * While- listening: - Get Ss to listen to the tape twice and fill in the messa ge.
- Ask Ss to compare with their guess. - Call some Ss to give the answers. - T plays the tape once again and pauses at each information for Ss to check. - T gives answers: Kingston junior high school Date: .............................
