Unit 9: A first-aid course Period 56: Lesson 2: Speak I. Objectives : -After the lesson Ss will be able to know more about the first aid by using the simple future to make request, offers and promises - To drill speaking skill. II.Teaching aids. - Text book + picture + posters. III. Teaching procedure. 1.Class organization: 2. Oral test
- Read the dialogue, and answer the questions ? - Do the exercise1 (page: 55 ) 3. New lesson A. Warm up: Ask the Ss to play the Net work The first - aid situation B. Pre- speaking: -Introduce the situation. - Introduce the phrases to practice speaking. -Explain the phrases to the Ss.
Requests Offers Promises Can/ could you......? Would you like....? Iwill.......I promise. Will/ would you...........? What can I get for you? I promise, I will......... Shall I......? I promise I won’t........ Will / would you I promise to.............. have.........? Can I get you........? C. while -speaking -Ask the Ss to work in group of two to practice the requests , and responses to the requests. - Call some pairs to practice in front the rest. a. Sister: Shall I get you some medicine? Boy: Yes, please. / That would be nice. No, I ‘ fine. b. A: Can you get me some bandage?
B: Sure. c. A Would you like me to get you some medicine? B: That would be nice. d. Boy: I promise I won’t play soccer in the house again. Mother: I hope so/ Don’t forget. - Check the mistake if necessary. D. Post – speaking. - Ask the Ss to practice more the Different situations given. a. A: It’s very hot here. (Request) Could you open the windows, please? B: All right. e. A: You look tired and hungry. (Offer ................................................? B: No, thanks. f. A: Look at the grade for this month. I think you should do better next month. B: (Promise)..............................
g. A: Good morning, sir. (Offer) ........................................................? B: yes, I‘d like to buy a watch for my daughter. - Check the mistake if necessary 4. Consolidation - Ask Ss to retell the phrase to express the requests, offers. And promises. 5. Home work - Ask the Ss to do the exercise2,3 ,4 ( page : 55-56 -57 ) in the work book - Prepare the listening.
