Variation in soil properties and carbon stocks under roadside plantation and rice-wheat cropping system in North Western Haryana, India

Understanding ecological diversity and physicochemical properties of the soil is of core concern for better management of roadside plantation, especially in developing countries. Soil properties and carbon stocking are largely influenced by the landuse and spatial distribution. This study compares two different landuse, i.e., roadside plantation and ricewheat (RW) cropping system at five different locations (Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipatand Sonipat) to assess their effects on soil properties and carbon stocking as well as maintaining ecological diversity in North-Western (NW) Haryana, India.
