The present investigation was carried out for, Correlation studies and Path Coefficient Analysis in Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.). Correlation studies showed that the traits viz. harvest index, number of pods per plant, 100 seed weight, number of seeds per pod and plant height exhibited positive and highly significant genotypic correlation with seed yield.

Correlation and path analysis was worked out among thirty chickpea genotypes with three replications under both rainfed and irrigated conditions utilising yield, drought tolerant traits and mechanical harvestable traits during rabi, 2018 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh, India. Biological yield per plot and harvest index exhibited significant positive correlation with seed yield and drought tolerance index. 100 seed weight and number of pods per plant also contributed positively to DTI and seed yield under rainfed conditions.

Horse gram is highly proteinaceous important food legume crop. The present study was conducted at IGKV, RMD CARS, research and instructional farm Ambikapur, during Kharif2019 using 24 genotypes of horse gram. The pod yield was significantly and positively correlated with pod weight, pod girth, pericarp thickness, seed weight per pod, number of pods per plant and weight of 100 seeds. The path coefficient analysis using the phenotypic correlation coefficient among the pair of characters showed that number of pods per plant had the highest positive direct effect on yield. At last it could be concluded that PSM-3 and PSM5 are best performing varieties for this region according to green pod yield.

The present investigation was undertaken to find out interrelationships among different traits and their direct and indirect contribution towards seed yield. Seed yield per plant showed significant positive correlation with pods per plant, pod length, seeds per pod, branches per plant, seed size and pod yield per plant at both phenotypic and genotypic levels while with nodes per plant, plant height, 100-seed weight and harvest index at genotypic level only.

Tamarind seeds are rich source of polysaccharide which is obtained from tamarind seed kernels. Present study was carried to examine the variation in Tamarind Seed Powder (TSP) yield with respect to different seed sources collected from Tamil Nadu (19), Kerala (3), Karnataka (13) and Andhra Pradesh (5). 100 seed weight were measured and seeds were roasted and Kernel and testa content and gum yield were measured. The maximum 100 seed weight was obtained in Aasan and which also recorded in highest gum yield. The percentage yield was about 50 %.

An experiment was carried out to see the effect of plant growth regulators on yield and quality of guava cv. Allahabad safeda. Induced mutation by gamma rays irradiation is one way to increase genetic variability of plants. The seeds were irradiated by gamma rays mutation doses, namely 10 kR, 20 kR and 30 kR with response of two soybean cultivars were studied in the M2 generation. Increase in heritability and genetic advance was noticed for some economic traits like seed yield plant-1 , 100 seed weight, number of seeds plant-1 , pod weight plant-1 and germination per cent in M2 offering good scope for selection.

A field study was carried out in Horticulture Research Farm, I.G.K.V. Raipur (C.G.) during rabi season 2007-08.The results indicated that vegetative growth contributing characters (leaf area index , fresh and dry weight per plant were influenced by combination of 100%K and 75% NP along with Azotobacter, Azospirillum and PSB (T8). Yield contributing characters (like number of seed per umbellet, 1000-seed weight (g), total no of seed per plant (g) and seed yield (q/ha) maximum in (T8) were given better performance respectively over all the treatments.

An experiment was conducted to generate a broad genetic variability through induced mutation using physical and chemical mutagens. Three doses each of gamma rays (20, 40 and 60kR), ethyl methane sulphonate (0.2, 0.4 and 0.6%), nitrosoguanidine (0.005, 0.010, and 0.015%), maleic hydrazide (0.01, 0.02 and 0.03%) and their combinations were administered to the seed of two greengram varieties, Sujata and OBGG-52.
