Stachys species show high morphological diversity and their main diagnostic characteristics are calyx and corolla length, ratio of tooth to calyx, and verticillaster arrangement. This manuscript describes and provides detailed morphological, micromorphological and molecular information about a new species, Stachys istanbulensis Ö. Güner, and its close relatives. The new species resembles S. recta complex, but is distinguished by its procumbent flowering stems, shorter calyx and teeth, congested verticillasters, creamy yellow corolla and oblong-obovoid nutlets.

This study was aimed to evaluate the physicochemical properties and chemical profile of seeds oil obtained from new seven sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) lines as well as their antioxidant and enzyme inhibition activity. The seeds powder was extracted by maceration in n-hexane. The oil content of the seven lines was ranged from 20.04% to 36.65% and was either yellow or pale yellow in color. No significant variations were observed on the refractive index (1.46 unit) of the oil.

Peripheral blood and haematopoiesis in bone marrow and liver tissue were investigated in Bufo bufo during the sexual cycle. A combined touch and imprinting tissue method were applied for the haematopoietic cell isolation. The liver is the primary site of erythropoiesis and partial lymphopoiesis. There was a positive correlation between body mass and liver mass, but it was not significant (P > 0.05). The primary role of yellow bone marrow is the maturation of haematopoietic cells, while red bone marrow is responsible for the production of blood cells.

Astragalus nurhakdagensis, a new species from the south of Turkey was described, illustrated, and compared to the closest taxa Astragalus hirsutus, A. dumanii and A. cataonicus from which it is set apart by a longer calyx length (13–14 mm) and calyx teeth (7–9 mm, longer than tube), white corolla colour, longer bracts (13–15 mm) and black hairy stripes below the stem nodes. In A. hirsutus, the calyx length (6–10 mm) and calyx teeth are much smaller (2–3 mm long, shorter than tube), with yellow corolla colour and without black hairy stripes. It also differs from A.

A new spectrophotometric method has been developed for determination of molybdenum using surfactantmediated liquid–liquid extraction. Molybdenum(V) obtained by ascorbic acid reduction in 2.5 M H2 SO4 reacted spontaneously with thiocyanate and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), forming an intense orange yellow complex that was extracted quantitatively into 1,2-dichloroethane and absorbed at 460 nm. The absorbance of the extract was found to be stable for more than 24 h.

Calopadia ruiliensis, found on living leaves in southwest China, is described as a new species, based on morphology and phylogenetic analysis. It is characterized by a foliicolous thallus with yellow greenish to creamy yellow color, rounded apothecia with nonpruinose to thinly pruinose disc, a dark olive-green hypothecium and black-brown subhymenium, and 1-spored asci producing muriform ascospores. Phylogenetic analysis of LSU sequence data shows that the new species clusters in the genus Calopadia with high bootstrap support.

Two new azo-Schiff base receptors (L1 and L2) containing azo and azomethine groups with a conjugated group (benzyl ring of anthranilic acid, in L1) and electron-donating group (alkyl chain of hexanoic acid, in L2) were synthesized and characterized. Azo-hydrazone/phenol-keto tautomerism and solvatochromism were investigated. Studying their sensing ability towards cations (Co2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Ni2+, Pb2+, Cd2+, Mn2+, Fe3+, Cr3+, and Al3+), high sensitivity and selectivity were recorded for Fe3+ by naked eye and UV-Vis spectra in DMF-aqueous HEPES buffer (v:v, 1:1, pH 6.8).

Members of the F. oxysporium species complex (FOSC) in the f. sp. apii (Foa) are pathogenic on celery and those in f. sp. coriandrii (Foci) are pathogenic on coriander (=cilantro). Foci was first reported in California in 2005; a new and highly aggressive race 4 of Foa was observed in 2013 in California.

Aroma is one the most crucial inherent quality attributes of fruit. ‘Ruixue’ apples were selected from a cross between ‘Pink Lady’ and ‘Fuji’, a later ripening yellow new cultivar. However, there is little known about the content and composition of aroma compounds in ‘Ruixue’ apples or the genetic characters of ‘Ruixue’ and its parents.

Weeds are considered as a source of new viruses and reservoirs of unidentified economically important viruses but are often neglected during diversity studies. Here, the weeds which are highly susceptible for the virus infection found in the Pulse Research block of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore is documented. Many scientific reports have demonstrated that weeds serve as reservoir or alternative hosts for begomovirus survival and spread in the absence of the main crops. Now some new weeds are also added to the list in transmitting virus and host for vector.

In this study, Yellow mosaic resistant, TBG-104, a new variety of blackgram is considered which showed a higher yield gap between potential yield given by the breeder and the actual yield realized in the farmers‟ fields during rabi season. Surprisingly, on an average 1.5 folds more yield is observed in the famers‟ fields. A random sample of fifty-two farmers who cultivate TBG-104 was selected from three districts of Southern Zone of Andhra Pradesh and their fields are monitored from sowing to harvesting and data is collected on six factors.
