This combination of paclitaxel and curcumin gave a higher efficiency of both drugs in cytotoxicity, induced apoptosis, and effect on cell cycles of KPL4 cell line in comparison with the use of paclitaxel or curcumin alone or even a normal mixture of these two compounds. Furthermore, PTX-Cur/PLA-TPGS nanoparticles exhibited a powerful ability in preventing MCF7 spheroids growth. Interestingly, curcumin also functioned as both a drug and a label. Based on the autofluorescence of curcumin, the absorption of PTX-Cur/PLA-TPGS nanoparticles into MCF7 spheroids could be followed and calculated.

To compare the clinical efficacy of a femoral neck system (FNS) and cannulated screws (CS) in the treatment of femoral neck fracture in young adults. Both treatment methods resulted in higher rates of fracture healing and excellent hip function. Compared with CS, the FNS reduced the number of intraoperative fluoroscopies, radiation exposure to medical staff and patients, and short-term complications including femoral neck shortening and bone nonunion.

An Interior-point algorithm with a line-search globalization is proposed for solving the general nonlinear programming problem. At each iteration, the search direction is obtained as a resultant of two orthogonal vectors. They are obtained by solving two square linear systems. An upper-triangular linear system is solved to obtain the Lagrange multiplier vector. The three systems that must be solved each iteration are reduced systems obtained using the projected Hessian technique. This fits well for large-scale problems.

In this paper, we estimate the scale of time consumption of such calculation in comparison to that of time-independent calculation, and present our solution to the problem by using parallel computing as implementing both MPI and OpenMP to the calculation. Simple, efficient and practical CO2 capture method is reported using task-specific ionic liquid (IL) supported onto the amine-functionalized silica gel. The results have been shown that both the capacity and rate of the CO2 absorption notably increase in the supported IL/molecular sieve 4 A˚ system in comparison of homogeneous IL. Additionally, it has shown that the prepared material is capable for reversible carbon dioxide absorption for at least 10 cycles without significant loss of efficiency.
