In this paper, we consider the adaptive sliding mode control with radial basis function neural networks for the Omni-directional mobile robot. This is a holonomic robot that can operate easily in small and narrow spaces, due to the ability of flexible rotational and translational moving, simultaneously and independently.

In this paper, we propose a simple-yet-efficient adaptive control method for accurate tracking-control problems of DC motors. Structure of the controller is designed based on a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control framework. For significantly improving quality of the control system, a nonlinear-spatial adaptation law is proposed to reasonably adjust the control parameters based on information of the control error acquired.

Adapting the problem formulations and solution techniques for these new areas will undoubtedly keep engineers busy for a long time, and we can only hope that we have provided a useful base from which to start.

In this work, a sliding mode control (SMC) method and a composite learning SMC (CLSMC) method are proposed to solve the synchronization problem of chaotic fractional-order neural networks (FONNs). A sliding mode surface and an adaptive law are constructed to update parameter estimation. The SMC ensures that the synchronization error asymptotically tends to zero under a strict permanent excitation (PE) condition. To reduce its rigor, online recording data together with instantaneous data is used to define a prediction error about the uncertain parameter.

Constant-type and function-type adaptation mechanisms are integrated into control law, in which the mass of payload is considered as a constant-type uncertainty, whereas the uncertain dynamical functionw are estimated by radial basis function neural networks (RBFNNs).

Direct MRAS offers a potential solution to reduce the tracking errors in the presence of uncertainties and variation in plant behavior. However, this control algorithm may fail to be robust to measurement noise. In order to solve this trouble, the indirect MRAS is introduced that permanently adjust the parameters of observers. The adaptive adjusting law is derived by applying Lyapunov theory. The adaptive algorithm that is shown in this paper is quite simple, robust and converges quickly. Performances of the controlled systems are studied through simulation in Matlab/Simulink environment.

In the second part of the research, an interface framework was designed. Interactions between the driver and system  have been investigated and used to define information flows. Next, input and output channels have been defined,  indicating which information is presented to the user (output for a particular system state) and which information is  used as input.  For the resulting interface framework four concepts have been designed,  differing in feasibility and 'fanciness'. These  concepts were named Classic, Adaptive, Futuristic and Road Assistant, referring to their key features.
