The scope of this work is threefold: (i) to develop a new model within the framework of hydro-mechanical – damage coupling that can account for the coupling between microcrack (damage), water diffusion and shrinkage at stake for concrete secondary creep; (ii) to implement it in an existing hydro-damage lattice model; (iii) to validate the model with respect to the flexural creep of Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) and Mortars under high sustained load level.

In this research, we had successfully prepared a series of RF-carbon nitride composites for photocatalyst application. The modification of carbon nitride with RF resins aimed to enhance physical characteristics and photocatalytic activity toward organic pollutants, such as methylene blue. XRD, FTIR, SEM, and N2 adsorptiondesorption isotherms were used to characterize the asprepared composite materials.

The materials were then characterized by SEM, BET, AFM and XRD. The produced material was used to remove methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution by batch adsorption. Results showed that the bentonite nanoplatelets gave high adsorption ability with Langmuir maximum adsorption capacity of 312.50 mg/g, which could be a good adsorbent for removing dyes and other toxic organics in wastewater.

The adsorption of Pb2+ ions in solution by synthetic hydroxyapatite material was researched. The effects of adsorption time, adsorbent mass, solution pH, and Pb2+ ion concentration on adsorption properties were investigated. The Pb2+ adsorption efficiency of material can reach 98.7%. Two adsorption isotherm models, Freunlich and Langmuir, were used to evaluate adsorption isotherms.

Harvesting microalgae by centrifugation and filtration is very costly, affecting technical and economical feasibility of downstream processing of algal biomas to bioproducts. Flocculation is a potential technique for recovery of algae biomass. Particularly, flocculation using magnetic nanoparticles offers high separation efficiency due to their high surface area and magnetic properties. I

Waste from Jackfruit has little economic value and often causes serious environmental problems. The conversion of jackfruit waste will help reduce waste treatment costs, provide a potential source of raw materials for the activated carbon (AC) and increase economic value. In this study, the ACs from the Jackfruit shell and pulp were synthesized by microwave assistance for removing organic dyes.

In this study, the adsorption kinetics and equilibrium of methylene blue from aqueous solution onto activated carbon derived from coffee husk using one step ZnCl2 activation were investigated. The influence of initial methylene blue concentration and temperature were evaluated employing the batch experiment. To the experimental data, different kinetics and isotherm models were applied, finding that the best fitted is the pseudo-second-order equation and the Redlich-Peterson model, respectively.

Thiol-functionalized SBA-15 silicas have been directly synthesized by cocondensation of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and 3-(trimethoxysilyl)-1-propanolthiol (TSPT) under hydrothermal condition. Mesoporous structure was obtained after the surfactant removal by Soxhlet and reflux ethanol extraction. These materials were characterized by means of powder X-ray diffraction, isotherms of nitrogen adsorption/desorption, thermal analysis, infrared spectroscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.

The heat of adsorption was determined from isotherm parameters, which in turn were calculated by Frendlich equation. The method was applied for the determination of adsorption heat of p-nitrophenol, p-nitroaniline and 2,4-dinitrophenol on TW-2 and CAL 12× 40 activated carbons. With the approach, it is easily to cover the influence of the whole range of surface loading on the heat of adsorption, especialy in low surface coverage.

The adsorption of phenol over MCM-41 prepared from rice husk silica was investigated. MCM-41 material (RH-MCM-41) was synthesized using sodium silicate prepared from rice husk as a silica source and cetyltrimetylammoniumbromide (CTAB) as a surfactant with the following gel composition: 1SiO2: 0.106CTAB: 0.03NaOH: 150H2O. The obtained material was characterized by XRD and BET. RH-MCM-41 exhibits high surface area and highly ordered hexagonal mesoporous structures. The adsorption of phenol over RH-MCM-41 fit well to both Langmuir and Freundlich isothermers.

5A, 4A and 3A zeolites were successfully prepared using solid seeds at pilot scale. The adsorption properties of 5A, 4A and 3A zeolites were determined by adsorption isotherm method. The results showed that water adsorption capacity and rate of 5A and 4A zeolites were higher than those of 3A zeolite. Even at low vapor pressure of water of 4 mmHg, adsorption capacity of 5A, 4A and 3A zeolites also reached about 23%, 22% and 17%, respectively, and was much higher than that of silicagel (5%).
