In this study, the essential oil from the leaves of bael tree was extracted and added as an additional income to the farmers along with its fruits, timber, fodder and other domestic usages. The essential oil yield from the leaves of bael tree was obtained by hydro-distillation. A socio-economic survey in the Bisht Village and Kirsali village of district Dehradun, Uttarakhnad was conducted and the existing role of bael tree in rural agroforestry and economy was also assessed.

Experiments were carried out to determine the insecticidal activity of Aegle marmelos Correa against Callosobruchus chinensis L. in the laboratory. Plants were extracted with petroleum ether, methanol, ethanol and water by using Soxhlet apparatus and tested against adult of C. chinensis. Plant extracts were showed insecticidal activity by affecting through mortality, oviposition deterrence and inhibition of F1 adult emergence.

In present study, three important multipurpose tree species, namely Aegle marmelos, Leucaena leucocephala and Parkia roxburghii were inoculated with better performing native arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi (AMF) species of the region. The AMF species viz., Acaulospora scrobiculata and Rhizophagus irregularis were inoculated individually and in combination under nursery conditions.

The current study investigated hepatoprotective and antioxidant effects of Aegle marmelos leaves extract. The major constituent present in the extract i.e. rutin was quantifed by using HPLC. Further, the study explored hepatoprotective efect of A. marmelos (70% ethanol extract) in combination with piperine.

The methanol extract from leaves of Aegle marmelos was investigated to control insect infestation of stored food commodities viz. maize, rice, cowpea and wheat flour during from Ostrinia nubilalis, Spodoptera littoralis, Callosobruchus maculates and Tribolium confusum. After introducing the test insects, stored food samples were fumigated with methanol extract from leaves of Aegle marmelos at 500 μg/mL (ppm). The methanol extract significantly enhanced feeding deterrence in insects and reduced the grain damage as well as weight loss in fumigated food samples infested with all insects.

Nine botanicals were evaluated for their antifungal activity against Fusarium solani causing root rot disease in Bael by employing poisoned food technique under laboratory conditions. The results indicated that all the botanicals inhibited the growth of the Fusarium solani as compared to control. Out of nine botanical tested, turmeric rhizome extract was found most effective as it showed minimum mycelial growth (33.3 mm, 20.7 mm and 13.5 mm) and maximum mycelial growth inhibition (63.1 %, 77.0 % and 85.

The microbially enriched vermicompost was used as potting mixture for raising seedlings of aonla and bael. Seedlings showed significant increase in shoot and root length over the seedlings grown in unamended vermicompost. Aonla and bael seedlings raised in microbial enriched vermicompost were healthier and showed significantly more plant dry weight than seedling raised in vermicompost without addition of microorganisms.

The present investigation was carried out at Tissue Culture Laboratory of S.K.N. Agriculture University, Jobner, India during 2018-19. Experiment was laid out using completely randomized design (CRD) with ten replications. Six culture media viz. In the present study endophytic bacteria were isolated from Aegle marmelos and were screened for phosphate solubilizing activity. The isolate AP01 showed the ability to solubilize inorganic tricalcium phosphate and thus was characterized.
