Aforesaid treatment

The experiments comprising of 9 treatments, viz. Phosphorus at 40, 50 and 60 kg/ha along with 3 levels of Gypsum at 200, 300 and 400 kg/ha. It was laid out in a Randomized Block Design and replicated thrice. Maximum plant dry weight was recorded with Phosphorus 60 kg/ha along with Gypsum 400 kg/ha. Yield attributes namely more number of pods/plant and kernel yield was recorded with Phosphorus at 60 kg/ha along with Gypsum at 300 kg/ha. Net Returns and Benefit Cost Ratio was also recorded in the aforesaid treatment.

This field experiment was conducted during the kharif season of 2014 and 2015 at the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G) to find out the effect of crop arrangement and nutrient management on availability of nutrients under maize and soybean intercropping system. Treatments comprised of six cropping arrangements viz. sole maize (C1), sole soybean (C2), two replacement series of maize + soybean (2:2, C3 and 2:4, C4), two additive series in which two rows (C5) and one row (C6) of soybean were added in-between two rows of maize and four fertility levels viz.

Two non descript goats of age 1 and 1.5 years was presented at Veterinary Clinical Complex (VCC), PGIVER, Jaipur with history of pyrexia, anorexia, nasal discharge, lameness and various skin lesions on muzzle, lips and mouth. On physical examination, it was found that the lesion was dry ulcerative and scabby. Auscultation revealed a significant crackling sound suggestive of pneumonia. The aforesaid clinical pictures pointed towards orf infection. Both cases were treated with antibiotics and topical therapy till clinical recovery. Both goats were clinically recovered after treatment.

Kachchh, the largest district of Gujarat has very fragile environment and poor natural resources. Under such conditions, the cultivation of perennial component of vegetation, particularly the fruit trees, would provide opportunity for sustainable source of livelihood to the inhabitants of the region. Kachchh has about 18 percent potential area to grow fruit trees but under the aforesaid environment and edaphic conditions, the establishment, growth and economic life remain poor.
