The ST313 sequence type of Salmonella Typhimurium causes invasive non-typhoidal salmonellosis and was thought to be confined to sub-Saharan Africa. Two distinct phylogenetic lineages of African ST313 have been identified.

The South West Indian Ocean (SWIO) archipelagos and Madagascar constitute a hotspot of biodiversity with a high rate of endemism. In this area, the endemic subspecies A. m. unicolor has been described in Madagascar. It belongs to the African lineage, one of the four described evolutionary lineages in honey bees.

Bambara groundnut (Vigna subterranea L. Verdc.) is an indigenous, drought-tolerant, underutilized African food legume, with the ability to fix atmospheric N2 in symbiosis with soil rhizobial bacteria. Our work aimed to analyze the genetic diversity of 15 bacteria isolated from root nodules of Bambara groundnut coded RVC in Côte d’Ivoire and to evaluate their symbiotic characteristic in order to select the most efficient strains as biofertilizers.

Karyotype is the most important diagnostic and prognostic parameter in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and is abnormal in approximately 50% of patients. We emphasized the importance of chromosomal analysis and reported the most frequent cytogenetic abnormalities in 50 MDS (29 males (58%) and 21 females (42%), median age: 57.5 years) Egyptian patients using conventional banding analysis (CBA). Karyotype description was conducted according to the International System for Human Cytogenetic Nomenclature (ISCN, 2013).

Humoral immunity is so named because it involves substances found in the humours, or body fluids. It is mediated by antibodies produced by cells of the B lymphocyte lineage. B cells, activated by the adaptive immune responses, transform into plasma cells which secrete antibodies. This process is aided by CD4+ T-helper 2 cells, which provide active co-stimulation. The secreted antibodies bind to antigens present on the surfaces of invading microbes, which marks them for subsequent destruction (Pier et al., 2004).

Humans (Homo sapiens[3][4][5]), the only living members of the genus Homo, are mammals of the primate order originally from Africa, where they reached anatomical modernity about 200,000 years ago and began to exhibit full behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago.[6] The human lineage diverged from its last common ancestor with the chimpanzee some 5 million years ago in Africa, evolving into the Australopithecines and eventually the genus Homo.
