The study described the preparation of composite material through the dispersion of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) decorated with silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) in the matrix of blending natural rubber (NR) and polyethylene (PE) for use as an antibacterial agent. The FESEM results indicated the uniform and defect-free surface of the synthesized composites.

In the management of burn wounds, antimicrobial and wound healing properties are crucial. In this study, we prepared a three-layer electrospun poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) membrane for burn wound dressing. The hydrophobic electrospun PCL layer, embedded with silver nanoparticles (SNPs) (PCL-Ag), was coated with another layer of electrospun plasma-treated PCLAg to enhance the wettability of the membrane.

Three kinds of CueAg composite paste were fabricated. We used 10 mm Cu particles as the main component of the paste as they are significantly cheaper than Ag and Cu nanoparticles. To understand the bonding performance and mechanism, the flake-shape CueAg pastes with a different solvent and a Cu spherical particle with a diameter of 10 mm were separately implemented for the bare Cu bonding.

In this work, a functional nanocomposite consisting of silver nanoparticles and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-Ag) was successfully synthesized using a two-step chemical process. The MWCNTsAg nanocomposite has been studied as a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensing platform for detection of methylene blue (MB) dye in an aqueous medium.

The objective of this project was to develop \(Ti{O_2}\) based multifunctional substrates through silver decoration, while simultaneously enhancing the photocatalytic performance of \(Ti{O_2}\) in the substrate. Employing Ag nanoparticles introduced additional functionality to the system, namely surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), thus enabling the detection of trace amounts of organic molecules prior to their degradation, all with the same substrate.

This work reports the surface modification of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fibers by graft copolymerization to ensure the decoration of homogenous and dense Ag nanoparticles. Two facile and subsequent modification processes resulted in a PAN fiber composite with an intact fibrous structure, sufficiently conductive for antistatic application and antibacterial activity. In the first step, some chemically attractive monomers and monomer mixtures, such as acrylic acid (AA), AA-itaconic acid (AA-IA), AA-acrylamide (AA-AAm), were introduced to the fiber surface by grafting.

Nanometric composite TiO2, TiO2-SiO2 (TS10) and AgTiO2-SiO2 (A4TS10) powder photo-catalysts have been synthesized via sol-gel assisted with hydrothermal treatment method and employed for aqueous phenol decomposition under sunlight irradiation. Characteristics of those samples are analyzed by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), Transmission electron microscope (TEM), Brunauer-EmmettTeller (BET) surface area and UV-Vis absorption method.

Electrochemical properties of disulfiram, representative of highly significant bioactive compounds, were studied with a cyclic renewable silver amalgam film electrode (Hg(Ag)FE) using square wave cathodic stripping voltammetry (SWCSV). The influence of various factors such as pH, buffer concentration, buffer composition, and SWCSV parameters on current response was investigated. The applicability of the developed method was tested in the determination of disulfiram in the commercial formulation Anticol.

Dimethylamine borane (DMAB) is a promising fuel alternative for fuel cell applications. In this work cyclic voltammetric behavior of DMAB was investigated on the polymerized aminophenol film decorated with Ag nanoparticles in alkaline media. The polymer film was formed on the glassy carbon electrode by electrochemical technique and then, the surface was modified with Ag nanoparticles. The surface of the modified electrode was identified by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques.

In this work, polyethylene oxide (PEO) was used as a compatibilizer to improve compatibility of chitosan (CS) and alginate (AG) in CS/AG composites loading lovastatine (LS). The CS/AG/PEO/LS composites were prepared by solution method with the ratio of AG/CS and LS content fixed at 4/1 and 10 wt.% (in comparison with the total weight of CS and AG), respectively. The PEO content was changed 3, 5 and 10 wt.% as compared with AG+CS+LS weight.

Synthesis of NiSn alloy nanoparticle-incorporated carbon nanofibers was performed by calcining electrospun mats composed of nickel acetate, tin chloride and poly(vinyl alcohol) under vacuum. The electrochemical measurements indicated that utilization of tin as a co-catalyst could strongly enhance the electrocatalytic activity if its content and calcination temperature were optimized.
