Fodder harvesting is a tedious operation in agriculture field. In India, agriculture is facing serious challenges of scarcity of agricultural labour not only in peak seasons but almost throughout the year. It is very time consuming and stressful operation.

Rice residues are important natural resources, and recycling of these residues improves the soil physical, chemical and biological properties. Management of rice straw is a major challenge as it is considered to be a poor feed for the animals due to high silica content. A field experiment was conducted at Agricultural Research Station, Bhavanisagar during 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 to review the suitable rice residue management practices and nutrient dynamics by using combine harvester operated rice field after cultivating rice.

Agricultural dusts are generated due to crop production activities such as ploughing, seed bed preparation, sowing, harvesting and threshing. The present study was undertaken for evaluation of organic and inorganic dust concentration in different agricultural operations in Wheat crop cultivation. The study was confined to Chhattisgarh plains of 5 districts in 15 KYSK. There were 138 farmers studied those bringing the services of owners of KYSK. The sampled owners of KYSK reported that 100 per-cent demand of 60 per-cent farmers whereas demand for harvesting, threshing and winnowing of machinery was 66% that reported by almost owner of KYSK.

This study was conducted to examine the emission of aerosols during different agricultural operation like mulching, ploughing etc. Grimm aerosol spectrometer (11-R LAS) was used to measure the emission levels in terms of respirable, thoracic, alveolic and particulate matter concentration (PM10, PM2.5) on an experimental farm at Dabbda village in Hisar district of Haryana. Field was in dry condition after harvesting different operations were performed on the field emission was recorded at nose level of the tractor operator seated on his seat during different operations.

The mobile phone system can be used to alert villagers about disease outbreaks and other important agricultural information. Many of the farmers suffer from lack of up to date, accurate market price information because of their remote location, or simply because they don‘t know how and where to get trustworthy information. Harvesting of crop is one of the important agricultural operations. The availability and cost of labour during harvesting season is the serious problem. Timely harvesting of the crop is vital to achieve better quality and higher yield of the crop. To ensure efficient and timely harvesting operation manually drawn battery powered reaper was developed at CAET, JAU, Junagadh. Performance evaluation of developed machine was carried out at different forward speeds (0.8-1.2 km/h,1.3-1.7 km/h and 1.8-2.2 km/h) and different cutter bar speeds (200 rpm, 300 rpm and 400 rpm).

Sowing is one of the important agricultural operations for raising crops. After harvest of paddy, if there is deficit moisture in the soil at the time of sowing of wheat, the germination gets affected leading to loss of yield. Handling of water treated seeds by seed drill may open a new gate of opportunities for mechanized sowing of wheat under water stressed conditions, which was the prime objective of the study.

The present study was conducted in Udaipur District of Rajasthan state. The purpose was to know drudgery faced by farm women in agricultural activities in this area. Zero-Till-Slit tillage and seeding machine was designed and developed for fulfilling the requirements of conservation agriculture. The rotary zero-till-slit tillage and seeding machine were developed for zero-till seeding in straw fields after grain combine harvester's operation. The combined tillage and seeding machine were equipped with seven units of rotary slit cutters as a key component. In the present study, four different shapes of rotary slit cutters were evaluated in the soil-bin laboratory for different forces acting on the rotary slit cutter blade.

Agriculture is the main source of income in India. Women are actively involved in various agricultural operations wherever the work is monotonous, time taking and recurring like sowing, weeding, harvesting, bundling vegetables etc. Majority of these activities have to be carried out manually either with simple tools or bare hands which leads to injuries, physiological stress, skin allergies and scratches. Hence the present study was taken up to introduce ring cutter in harvesting vegetables and flowers to reduce the stress and improve the work output.
