  • The study was conducted at the Education and Research Farm of the Department of Botany, College of Agriculture, Dapoli, Dist. Ratnagiri, Maharashtra state during the kharif and rabi2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, to study the “Effect of seasons and plant spacings on quality parameters of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) genotypes”. The experiment was laid out in split plot design replicated three times. The main plot treatment consists of two seasons (kharif and rabi); however, sub plot treatments consist of eleven groundnut genotypes.

  • The present study was conducted in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra state during 1980-81 to 2011-12. The study found that area under wheat, bajra, gram, redgram had declined and area under rice, Kharif jowar, Rabi jowar, greengram, blackgram, fruits and vegetables, soybean sugarcane and groundnut was increased. Similarly area under total cereal and pulse was also declined.

  • Agriculture is an intrinsically risk industry. Sugarcane crop is grown as a important cash crop in all over the world and facing several risks in production and marketing. Present study focuses on the measurement of farm risk i.e. area, production, productivity and price for sugarcane production in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Coefficients of variation (CV) are used to analyze the production risk for both states.

The study was carried out on energy requirement and energy input output relationship of paddy production in konkan region of Maharashtra state. Different farm operations from land preparation to storage were considered for finding the energy consumption in paddy cultivation. Primary data were obtained through field survey. From selected district four talukas namely Latur, Renapur, Chakur and Ausa were randomly selected from Latur district. From each talukas three villages were selected and from each selected village ten respondents of mobile phone user were randomly selected to comprise 120 respondents.   • Colocasia [Colocasia esculenta var. antiquorum (L.) schott.], which is also known as Taro, Arvi, Katchu and eddode belongs to the family Aracea is an important edible aroid. Africa ranks first in area and production of colocasia and in India colocasia is favourite among Gujarat, Konkan region of Maharashtra and several other parts of south India.   • The present study was conducted in Nagpur district of Vidarbha region, Maharashtra State. The sample consisted of 100 farmers from peri-urban area of Nagpur. The data regarding the effect of urbanization on agriculture were collected using pre-tested interview schedule. A study was undertaken on different effect aspect i.e. crop cultivation, livestock, agriculture market, subsidiary occupation, farmers and others. It was observed that 89.00 per cent of farmers from peri-urban area faced major constraints was construction of buildings on agricultural land by private constructors, while 86.

From Osmanabad district, Osmanabad blocks were selected purposively based on considerable number of respondent as a member of 'Farmer Producer Company'.
