In this study, archaeobotanical data were gathered from the Early, Middle, and Late Bronze Age layers (2400–1200 BC) of the Tatarlı Höyük exposed in the 2011–2012 excavation seasons in the Ceyhan district of Adana Province were evaluated. In 8 trenches relating to these periods, archaeological contexts such as inside areas, hearths, ovens, middens, ceramic pots, etc., as well as contexts with carbonized plant remains were recovered by using dry and wet sieving methods, corresponding in total to 90 soil samples.

Results revealed that crop sequence decreased significantly numbers (m2 ) and dry weight of grassy, broad-leaved and total weeds (g/m2 ) in both seasons. Sowing pea after clover/sorghum and clover/peanut decreased the numbers (m2 ) and dry weight of weeds (g/m2 ) and increased significant plant height, number of branches/plant.

Water is the most important component of agriculture production, especially during the dry seasons when all water sources are scarce yet water needs are very high. The Mekong river delta in Vietnam is the largest agricultural and aquacultural region in the country where about half of the Delta’s land area is used for rice and upland crop cultivation.

A field experiment was carried out during the rabi season of 2011-12 and 2012-13 at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bihar) to assess the effect of integrated weed management practices on weed dynamics, productivity and nutrient uptake of maize (Zea mays L.). Results revealed that weed management practices had positive influence on growth, yield attributes, yields and nutrient uptake of maize. Significantly lower weed density, weed dry weight and weed control efficiency (WCE %) were recorded in zero tillage (ZT) compared with conventional tillage (CT).

Variability in climate regimes of rainfall and temperature is a source of biotic and abiotic stresses in agricultural systems worldwide. This study examines seasonal and annual rainfall and temperature variability in rice, wheat and jute crop productivity for five decades (1972–2012) under long-term fertilizer experiment in alluvial soils of eastern India. The climatic variations and impacts were captured using a standardized precipitation index (SPI), diurnal temperature range (DTR) and crop productivity index (CPI).

Preservation of fruits, vegetables, and food are essential for keeping them for a long time without further deterioration in the quality of the product. Solar drying has been used since time immemorial to dry plants, seeds, fruits, meat, fish, wood, and other agricultural, forest products. The aim of the dryer is mainly for the welfare of the marginalized and poor farmers those who can’t afford hi-tech facilities and equipment’s to preserve their agricultural products.

Drip fertigation is known to enhance the growth and productivity of various crops. Since maize is a heavy feeder of nutrients and water, thus, proper management of these resources is the key to successful growth of maize. Keeping this in view, a field experiment was conducted at Zonal Agricultural Research Station, UAS, GKVK, Bangalore, during kharif season of 2012, to study the effect of drip irrigation and fertigation with different levels and sources of fertilizers on productivity and economics of maize.
