The present investigation aims ultimately to find out to management strategy for leaf spot of ber disease that suits agroclimatic conditions of the country. In the absence of stable management strategy, use of resistant varieties, against Alternaria leaf spot of ber is the only recommendation for the management of leaf spot of ber.

The present objective was undertaken to investigate the better transplanting time for the minimized damage due to DBM. The results of field studies shown that the planting dates had significant effect on the incidence of DBM. Early planted crops recorded significantly lower leaf damage than the late planted crops.

The variability in their population and damage can be related to changes in the ambient environment. With a view on the climate change projections for India, an attempt has been made here to study the impact of the likely changes in abiotic component in relation to BSFB and Hadda beetle in brinjal crop under Allahabad agroclimatic conditions.

The study revealed that flower color and hypocotyl pigmentation could be used as critical morphological characters for ascertaining varietal distinctiveness amongst genotypes. Of the 22 genotypes, few were utterly unique as they could be distinguished based on a single trait while the majority were very closely related. Cluster analysis revealed that the 22 genotypes could be grouped into four major clusters, whereby 13 genotypes were found to be unique based on at least one character and others could be distinguished based on a set of traits rather than a single trait.

Mycorrhiza has drawn substantial attention because of their role in ecosystem restoration and in alleviating the adverse environmental conditions for plant growth. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are obligate mutualist biotrophs of more than 80% terrestrial plants including mulberry. Mulberry plants are generally raised in nutritionally poor soils, so AMF have notable role in their survival and establishment, provided appropriate AMF inocula conducive to the prevailing edapho-agroclimatic conditions are used.

The investigation was undertaken at Department of Horticulture, SHIATS, Allahabad, during the year 2014. The experiment was laid out in simple Randomized Block Design with 3 replications, 12 genotypes (6 genotypes from IIVR Varanasi and 6 local cultivators) separately. Studies showed that, significant effect on the minimum days to germination (3.53 days), days to first appearance of male and female flower (34.07 and 38.30 days), node number at which first male and female flower appear (5.60 and 11.53), sex ratio (34.00), length of main vine (5.30m), minimum days to first harvesting (43.

Bovine tropical theileriosis caused by Theileria annulata is an economically important disease of cattle in tropical and subtropical countries. Conventional diagnostic methods are unable to identify the subclinical and carrier status of this disease. Molecular diagnostic methods are more sensitive in detection of subclinical and carrier condition on the disease. In this study 817 blood samples were collected from cattle of seven different agroclimatic zone of Tamil Nadu state.

Ginger, an indigenous plant, is an important spice crop of the world. Traditionally ginger is propagated by using portions of mother rhizomes called as sets. Each healthy set of 2.5 to 5 cm long, weighing 20-25 g and having two or three buds each are directly sown in the main filed. Though transplanting in ginger is not conventional, it is found profitable. A transplanting technique in ginger by using single bud sprouts (about 5 g) has been standardized to produce good quality planting material with reduced cost.

Seed priming techniques for maize and pea crop are not well established for rain-fed agroclimatic conditions of Himachal Pradesh. Keeping this in view, a study was carried out for two years (2014-15 and 2015-16) at the experimental farm of Hill Agricultural Research and Extension Centre, Bajaura, Kullu. Four priming levels of Zn (0% ZnSO4-water soaking, 1% ZnSO4, 2% ZnSO4 and 3% ZnSO4) and three priming durations (4 hours, 8 hours and 12 hours) were compared with basal dose of recommended NPK + ZnSO4 and farmers’ practice (absolute control).
