The research objective was to determine the suitability of land regarding physical and economic conditions as a basis to support managers in planning effective agricultural development strategies that are suitable and sustainable for land potential in a future affected by climate change. In this research, physical and socio-economic data were collected by field surveys, household interviews (330 households), and agricultural manager discussions.

The first set represented the northern population located in the north of the country. That region is characterized by dry climate conditions. The northern population appeared more diversified and accessions were typically of the bunch type with lower phenological, vegetative and yield traits. The second set was less diversified.

Heading time is one of the most important agronomic traits in wheat, as it largely affects both adaptation to different agro-ecological conditions and yield potential. Identification of genes underlying the regulation of wheat heading and the development of diagnostic markers could facilitate our understanding of genetic control of this process.

French bean and Pea are an important vegetable crop consumed by human being as green pods and dry seeds due to its high nutritive value as the source of the amino acid, lysine and tryptophan as well as provides valuable dietary protein in the human diet. Considering its use as a vegetable which fits well indifferent cropping systems, there is need for improvement and development of cultivars to specific agro ecological conditions. The knowledge of genetic diversity is an important tool for any breeding programme aimed to exploit hybrid vigour.

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is one of the major pulses in human diet for essential source of inexpensive protein. Wilt disease is one of the major constraints in production of chickpea caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. ciceri is widespread in chickpea growing areas resulting in considerable economic losses. Surveys were conducted during the rabi season of 2014-2015 and 2015-16 to obtain information on the distribution and natural incidence of chickpea wilt in the Agro-ecological condition of undulating red and lateritic zone of West Bengal, India.

Studies on crop-weather relations in cassava varieties were carried out for three plantings viz., May, October and December at Agronomy farm, College of Horticulture, Vallanikkara. Four varieties of two short-duration, (VellayaniHraswa and SreeVijaya) and two normal- duration varieties, (M4 and SreeAthulya) were grown under rainfed conditions.

Alternaria blight caused by Alternaria brassicae (Berk.) Sacc. has been reported as one of the most serious threat to the production of rapeseed and mustard which is reflected in various yield attributing factors eventually affecting the yield. The matter is of grave concern as both the crops have economic importance and fetch return to the growers merely on the basis of oil content. The present study was conducted in order to assess yield loss of rapeseed and mustard with respect to various yield attributing factors in various varieties under natural conditions.

India is home of world's most useful plants thriving in her diverse agro-ecological zones and altitudes. The varying weather conditions of this country provide suitable environment for growing variety of fruits. Nutritionists recommend that fruits must form an important constituent of the daily diet. Different fruits’ colour, varied aroma and taste make them palatable and freshen over mind and body.

Assessment of pigeonpea restorers on morphological basis of host plant resistance against pod borers
Pigeonpea, Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp is one of the important legume food crop of the semi-arid tropical and sub-tropical farming systems under varied agro-ecological environments. It is the second most important pulse crop of India after chickpea. India is the largest producer and also the largest consumer of pulses in the world. Assessments of twenty six restorers of pigeonpea was screened for resistance against major insect pests of pigeonpea under field conditions, at the ARS, Badnapur, VNMKV, Parbhani during Kharif – 2017-18.

An experiment on the insect pollinators was conducted with four summer squash hybrids viz., Parikrama, Chandra, Chamatkar and Gold Queen at the Research Farm of the Department of Entomology, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. Based on pollination index (loose pollen grains sticking on the body x abundance x foraging rate), A. mellifera was the most efficient pollinator of C. pepo with pollination index of 1177360 followed by A. dorsata (773280 ) and A. cerana (223420) and A. florea with pollination index 63480 under agro-ecological conditions of Hisar (Haryana).

Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is an important edible leguminous oilseed crop. Diseases of groundnut act as the limiting factor to its economic production. Recently, the stem rot caused by Sclerotium rolfsii is becoming severe disease of groundnut in India. Crop Losses up to 59 per cent due to stem rot disease have been reported by many researchers.

Arbuscular mycorrhizal status of Pippali a medicinal plant species in the Jorhat district of Assam, India were surveyed during 2018. Percent colonization, spore density and diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi associated with the rhizospheric soil and roots of pippali growing wild as well as under cultivated conditions were investigated. It was found that 100% of the surveyed sample was of mycorrhizal infestation. The spore colonization per cent of AMF ranged from 30.80 to 66.50% spores per 100 g of soil. The maximum spore population (185.

Improving agricultural water productivity, under rainfed or irrigated conditions, holds significant scope for addressing climate change vulnerability. It also offers adaptation capacity needs as well as water and food security in the southern African region. In this study, evidence for climate change impacts and adaptation s trategies in rainfed agricultural systems is explored through modeling predictions of crop yield, soil moisture and excess water for potential harvesting.
