Ajwain seed (Trachyspermum ammi)

The present experiment was aimed to study the effect of ajwain seeds (Trachyspermum ammi) as feed additive on energy partitioning and performance in male buffaloes.15 animals were divided and assigned to three treatments viz., T1 (control) animals were fed basal diet without additive, T2 and T3 were fed basal diet with ajwain @ 1 and 2% DMI.

For present study experimental material consisted of 25 elite genotypes of ajwain. Observation was recorded on 11 quantitative traits in ajwain. High estimates of heritability (broad sense) were obtained for oil content and seeds per umbelet. The magnitude of PCV as expected was greater than the corresponding GCV for all the characters indicating importance of environment in expression of characters.

The present study was aimed to study the effect of dietary supplementation of ajwain on the performance of broiler chicken. Two hundred and twenty five one-day old unsexed broiler chicks were used on a completely randomized design in 5 groups with 3 replicates, each consisting of 15 broilers.
