The respiratory system is exposed to various allergens via inhaled and intranasal routes. Murine models of allergic lung disease have been developed to clarify the mechanisms underlying inflammatory responses and evaluate the efficacy of novel therapeutics.

The objectives of present study were to examine the level of disagreement between self-reported and objective measurement of sensitization to common inhalant allergens, and to explore the potential risk factors that might contribute to this discrepancy.

Indoor environments contribute significantly to total human exposure to air pollutants, as people spend most of their time indoors. Indoor air quality is influenced by penetrating outdoor air, specific indoor pollution sources, interactions between building system/construction techniques and occupants. Some pollutants may be 2-5 times more concentrated inside than outside buildings .

Omega-5 gliadins are a group of highly repetitive gluten proteins in wheat flour encoded on the 1B chromosome of hexaploid wheat. These proteins are the major sensitizing allergens in a severe form of food allergy called wheat-dependent exercise-induced anaphylaxis (WDEIA).

Cow’s milk (CM) is the main food allergen for toddlers and infants. Presently, studies on CM specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) sensitization and positive distribution of CM components ALA-, CAS-, and BLG-sIgE are lacking in infants with respiratory allergic diseases, especially in southern China.

In this study is presented the influence of different plant’s pollen grains on the spread of allergic diseases in people sensitive to allergic factor living in Elbasan region of Albania for 2018. To achieve this goal, allergy tests have been performed by prick test on a number of individuals who have shown signs of allergies. 10 plant alergenes (Alnus glutinosa, Artemisia vulgaris, Ambrosia sp., Betula pendula, Corylus avellana, Parietaria officinalis, Phleum pratense, Platanus orientalis, Quercus sp.

Chenopodiaceae-Amaranthaceae pollen represents an allergenic risk for pollen-sensitive people. The aim of this study was to describe the Chenopodiaceae-Amaranthaceae pollen dynamics in the atmosphere of Salamanca (midwest Spain) during the years 2000-2007.

Sensitization to cockroach allergens is associated with the development of asthma. Bla g 1 is a German cockroach allergen that shows allergenic cross-reactivity with American cockroach allergen, Per a 1, and has a molecular structure composed of multiple tandem amino-acid repeats. Two consecutive repeats are not identical but form a duplex that constitutes a basic molecular unit of Bla g 1. By molecular mass, purified natural Bla g 1 would contain approximately two duplexes.

Because there is no clear definition of the asthma phenotype, researchers studying the development of this complex disease turn to characteristics that can be measured objectively, such as atopy (manifested as the presence of positive skin-prick tests or the clinical response to common environmental allergens), airway hyperresponsiveness (the tendency of airways to narrow excessively in response to triggers that have little or no effect in normal individuals), and other measures of allergic sensitization.

Inhaled environmental antigens, i.e. allergens, cause allergic symptoms in millions of patients worldwide. As little is known about the fate of an aller-gen upon inhalation, we addressed this issue for a major dust mite allergen, Der p 2. First, a model for Der p 2-sensitization was established in C57BL⁄6 J mice, in which sensitized mice mounted a Der p 2-specific IgE-response with eosinophilic lung inflammation after allergen challenge in the airways.

Approximately 400 million allergic patients are sensitized against group 1 grass pollen allergens, a family of highly cross-reactive allergens present in all grass species. We report the eukaryotic expression of the group 1 aller-gen from Timothy grass, Phl p 1, in baculovirus-infected insect cells. Domain elucidation by limited proteolysis and mass spectrometry of the purified recombinant glycoprotein indicates that the C-terminal 40% of Phl p 1, a major IgE-reactive segment, represents a stable domain....

WORKING PAPER SERIES NO. 527 / SEPTEMBER 2005: BANKING SYSTEM STABILITY A CROSS-ATLANTIC PERSPECTIVE
The dependent variable leverage is one minus the ratio of equity over assets in market values. It therefore includes both debt and non-debt liabilities such as deposits. The argument for using leverage rather than debt as the dependent variable is that leverage, unlike debt, is well defined (see Welch, 2007). Leverage is a structure that increases the sensitivity of equity to the underlying performance of the (financial) firm.

Exposure to an allergen is essential for the development of allergic sensitization. However, the quantity of allergen necessary for sensitization is not known and may depend on the individual and the allergen itself. For sensitization to dust mites, there does appear to be a dose–response relationship, with atopically predisposed individuals exposed to more allergen being more likely to become sensitized (Platts-Mills et al., 2001).

We also believe that high quality design should play akey role in minimising any adverse effects of projects, whether this is directed at the disposition of windturbines and energy crops in the landscape or thepositioning of photo-voltaic cells on historic buildings.Fundamental to achieving high quality design will be asound understanding of the character and importanceof the historic asset involved, whether at the scale ofindividual buildings and sites or more extensive historicareas and landscapes.

The clinical and basic science of allergic disease is moving and evolving so rapidly that it is nearly impossible to keep up full of information regarding the news mechanisms, signalling cell markers, cellular plasticity and expression, biological mediators targets or molecular and genetic discovers aspects related to the allergy. Moreover the systemic impact of this pathology determines the complexity of the more recent evidence demonstrates that the rapid regulation of central immune organs in clinical response of the mucosa to the allergen or offending agent.
