This research investigates other built-in sensors and develops methods for improving the accuracy of indoor positioning. Combination with the wireless network, it can be a viable alternative solution for the indoor positioning purposes of the smartphone users. The main advantage of this solution is that it can be deployed with a minimal cost, as no specialized hardware is necessary for setting up the system.

This research has been undertaken by theoretical and practical investigation via a critique of the historical and contemporary topics surrounding women’s apparel size definitions. This analysis has informed the development of an alternative size model to assist design and production of mass market apparel. There is expectation from both apparel manufacturers and consumers that apparel standards are necessary for the efficient production and distribution of mass market apparel.

As science and technology has developed, the manner by which drugs can be delivered has grown. Medicines may be taken orally, applied as topical pastes, creams or oils, patches or administered by direct injection to the body. This research explores an alternative method for the delivery of therapeutic compounds to the body. The basis of the study involves the application of traditional medicinal compounds used to cure minor neck and back pains through transdermal topical application, using a textile substrate as the carrier.

For the case study the objective is to create and develop a questionnaire up to the point of content validity. The final results gave a product of a questionnaire of 48 items and a content validity accepted with a value of a “V” of Aiken and accordance proportions indexes above of 0.80 in all the items.

The use of solar energy has been adduced as an alternative way for generating electricity. This electricity is generated by solar panel but as temperature increases efficiency of panel decreases too. The main objective of this research paper is to minimize the use of the amount of water, electrical energy and required time needed for cooling of a solar panel.

Antimicrobial resistance is an emerging challenge for health personnel and researchers. In such scenario, alternative strategies targeting novel ways to kill or inhibit growth of microbes are need of the hour. Antimicrobial peptide can be a promising candidate to deal with this crisis. Extracellular matrix protein vitronectin (Vn) is recently being established as a bactericidal agent against certain microbes. Caprine Vn has got few structural alterations as compare to human Vn.

Research targets of the thesis: (i) To thereticallystudy the overall characteristics of MIH and their impacts based on theoretical calculation (ii) To carry out experiments on the influence of alternating magnetic field, particle size and viscosity on specific loss power for CoFe2O4 and MnFe2O4, chosen as representative of respectively high K and low K magnetic nanoparticles; and to compare the experimental behavior with that obtained by theroretical calculations.

We developed caitra, a novel tool that aids human translators by (a) making suggestions for sentence completion in an interactive machine translation setting, (b) providing alternative word and phrase translations, and (c) allowing them to postedit machine translation output. The tool uses the Moses decoder, is implemented in Ruby on Rails and C++ and delivered over the web. We are at the beginning of a research program to explore the benefits of these different types of aid to human translators, analyze user interaction behavior, and develop novel types of assistance. ...

Plasminogen activator inhibitor type-2 (PAI-2) is a nonconventional serine protease inhibitor (serpin) with unique and tantalizing properties that is generally considered to be an authentic and physiological inhibitor of uro-kinase. However, the fact that only a small percentage of PAI-2 is secreted has been a long-standing argument for alternative roles for this serpin.

We have identifiedDNA sequences required for the expres-sion of thepresenilin 1(PS1) gene. A promoter region has been mapped in SK-N-SH cells and includes sequences be-tween)118and+178flankingthemajor initiationsite (+1). ThePS1gene is also efficiently transcribed in the SH-SY5Y subclone of SK-N-SH cells. However the promoter appears tobeutilized inalternativeways inbothcell types. Sequences both upstream as well as downstream from the initiation site mapped in SK-N-SH cells were shown by 5¢-and3¢-deletion analysis to play a crucial role in both cell lines....

INFORMATION SYSTEM QUALITY : AN EXAMINATION OF SERVICE-BASED MODELS AND ALTERNATIVES If both peer group and school effectiveness are important to parents, then, the Tiebout mechanism rewards effective administrators only when there are many districts. Model (3) suggests that in this case the test score gap between high- and low-income schools will tend to be larger in markets with a great deal of interdistrict competition than in those with less Tiebout choice. I test for this in the empirical analysis below....

Phosphoglycerate kinase (EC 2.7.2.3) catalyzes reversible phosphoryl trans-fer from 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to ADP to synthesize 3-phosphoglycerate and ATP during glycolysis. Phosphoglycerate kinases from several sources can use GDP⁄GTP as alternative substrates to ADP⁄ATP; however, the maximal velocities (Vm) reached with the guanine nucleotides are 50% of those displayed with the adenine nucleotides.

The retroviral life cycle requires that significant amounts of RNA remain unspliced and perform several functions in the cytoplasm. Thus, the full-length RNA serves both the viral genetic material that will be encapsulated in viral particles and the mRNA encoding structural and enzymatic pro-teins required for viral replication.
