Aluminum electrodes

A facile hydrothermal-aided process is demonstrated to prepare an analcime 3-dimensional (3D) network using recycled aluminum foil as an aluminum source without using an organic template. The prepared material was characterized by different techniques. An electrode/electrolyte interface with a 3D network structure allows for better contact and improves the kinetics of the charge transfer.

Adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetric determination of aluminum at ng mL −1 levels in salt samples based on the metal complexation with Calcon (1-(2-hydroxynaphthylazo)-2 naphthol-4-sulfonic acid) and the subsequent adsorptive deposition onto a hanging mercury drop electrode was studied. Central composite design was used as a design method. Several chemical and instrumental parameters (pH, ligand concentration, deposition time, deposition potential, and complexing time) were involved in the experimental design.

This paper presents a comparative study of nanomaterial modified glassy carbon paste electrodes (GCPEs) used as bioanodes in enzymatic biofuel cells. The developed bioanode electrodes were obtained by modification of composite GCPEs with glucose oxidase (GOx) and different nanomaterials like manganese(IV) oxide nanoparticle (MnO2 np) and aluminum titanate (Al2O3–TiO2) bimetallic nanostructure. These nanostructures were utilized in a GCPEbased enzymatic bioanode construction for the first time.

The removal of bromothymol blue (BTB) from aqueous solution was studied by electrocoagulation (EC) technique using aluminum electrodes. The various experimental conditions known to influence the EC process were parameterized, including the effects of temperature, concentration, current density, pH, and treatment time. The results obtained have shown that optimum removal efficiency of 99.9% was realized at a current density of 20 mA/cm2 and pH of 4.7. The adsorption process showed a pseudo-first-order kinetic model as the best fit to the EC data.

Based on the number of previous studies, this study aims to investigate the effects of process parameters of an Electrochemical Machining process which are electrolyte concentration, voltage applied to the machine, feed rate of the electrode and Inter-Electrode Gap between tool and work - piece. Aluminum samples of 25 mm diameter x 25 mm height and 30mm diameter x 25mm height of the tool is made up of copper with a circular cross section with 2 mm internal hole. The design of the system is based on the Taguchi method.

Aluminum doped zinc oxide was prepared by magnetron sputtering methods at room temperature using a ZnO ceramic target doped 2%wt by Al2O3. The optical transmittance of the films is higher than 80% in the visible range. A direct bandgap type was reached by controlling deposition conditions; the bandgap value was in the range between 3.2 eV and 4.2 eV. Good electrical and optical properties were obtained for the films deposited by an appropriate cosputtering of ZnO and Al targets. These films with a resistivity, about 1.3×10−2Ω.

(BQ) The study used Taguchi dynamic approach coupled with a proposed ideal function model to optimize a high-speed EDM process for high geometrical machining precision and accuracy. The designed tool electrode including two basic geometries of square and circle as the distinct characteristics of workpiece is employed to help develop a versatile process for wider industrial applications. To enhance the speed and stability of EDM process, large discharge current is applied and aluminum (Al) powder added into the working fluid throughout the experiments.

Electrochemical double-layer capacitors store electrical energy at the phase boundary between an electronic conductor (electrode) and a liquid ionic conductor (electrolyte solution). In contrast to that, electrostatic space charge layers at dielectric oxide films, formed anodically on etched aluminum or tantalum foils of conventional electrolytic capacitors, should not be confused with the electrochemical double layer.
