Ag-exchanged Y zeolites (Si/Al = 2.5; Ag/Al = 0.30–0.95) have been tested in the NH3–SCO reaction, the most promising method for the elimination of ammonia emissions, and deeply characterized before and after reaction by using a variety of techniques (XRD, TEM, UV–Vis, 109Ag NMR, XAS spectroscopies).

This review provides new insight into the RFI and its relationship with productive traits in different species of poultry. In poultry breeding programs, use of the RFI in selection procedures as a negative trait must be adopted to produce an efficient breed with low feed costs and high productivity. From the point of view of an environmental perspective, selecting birds with lower RFI reduces emissions of ammonia and greenhouse gases from poultry houses.

This study aimed to assess the clinical usefulness of 13N-ammonia and 11C- Methionine (MET) positron emission tomography (PET)/ computed tomography (CT) in the differentiation of residual/recurrent pituitary adenoma (RPA) from the pituitary gland remnant (PGR) after trans-sphenoidal adenomectomy.

The energy requirement has increased exponentially over the past decades due to industrialization and the changes of subsequent lifestyle. Almost 90% of the present energy source is based on the combustion of fossil fuels. Diesel engines are considered the most ideal power generators in transportation and industrial sectors owing to their fuel economy and efficiency. However, they suffer from the disadvantages of exhaust pollutants particularly oxides of nitrogen (NOx), which are facing increasingly stringent emission regulations which led to the search for alternative technologies.

The substantial fraction of ammonia (NH3) emissions shown for the wood products industry is the result of an NEI data reporting error: 225,000 TPY of ammonia emissions reported in NEI are from a single facility and are believed to be incorrectly reported or misclassified as energy related. After correcting for this error by eliminating that data point, total energy-related CAP emissions for the wood products industry are approximately 180,000 TPY (as reported in Table 13, Section 2.3.

These efforts have attenuated the emissions engendered by growth, but 24-hour PM10 (particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter less than 10 m) concentrations exceeding several hundred µg/m3 are still measured at many monitoring sites. 1,2 A persistent haze blankets the city, especially during winter, and there is great concern among residents and visitors about the effects of suspended particles on health. Aerosols that contribute to this visibility degradation are usually a combination of primary and secondary particles.

Secondary aerosol is produced by the oxidation of primary gases (sulphur dioxide, SO2, nitrogen oxides, NOx, and volatile organic compounds, VOCs,) to sulphuric and nitric acid, and organic vapours, followed by their gas-particle conversion [26, 77]. Finally, some of these acidic gases can be neutralised by reaction with ammonia gas or calcium carbonate (calcite) forming secondary aerosol (ammonium sulphate, ammonium nitrate, calcium sulphate, calcium nitrate).

This study to develop AQ pollutant datasets for each of the constituent countries of the UK has been commissioned by Defra in order to better inform energy and environmental policy-makers within the Devolved Administrations in their pursuit of objectives set by the Air Quality Strategy for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (AQS for ESWNI). These objectives also contribute to the UK’s targets as a whole in terms of meeting both national and international targets on both local and transboundary air pollution....
