In this study, coal samples are synthesized from durian peel (the outer protective layer of durian fruit) by drying, mincing, and putting into a sieve with a fine mesh of 1-2 micrometers. Coal samples are activated by 2M NaOH solution with 1:20 (w/v) ratio for 2 hours and then heated at 700 degrees Celsius for 1 hour to create activated carbon. After preparation, samples are analyzed using advanced analytic technology such as FTIR spectroscopy and SEM.

The environmental performance index of industrial park (EPIIP) was established based on the multi-criteria evaluation method and the analytic hierarchy process method. The results of the study indicated that the VSIP I industrial park reached 68.95 points (relatively good level). Moreover, the results also showed that VSIP I was one of the industrial parks practicing good performance to protect environmental problems.

Oil finishes are another popular alternative to lacquer finishes, allowing the natural grains of the wood to show through. Oils stand up quite well to the test of time and durability, depending of course on how many coats get applied. A fairly protective coat can be achieved by applying several coats of a quality oil product… my preferred product being the MinWax oils, available in many colours for many types of wood. Danish oil is another product I like to recommend, especially for such wood items as railings, banisters, mantle pieces and door frames.
