Object of doing research of the thesis is agricultural development and high – tech agriculture in Kon Tum. About content of doing research: The thesis focuses on key plants with priority and potentiality of province in agricultural production and high – tech agriculture of cultivation and animal husbandry industry in Kon Tum as: vegetable, flowers, fruits, coffee and some other plants; Ngoc Linh ginseng and endemic pharmacognosies; cow, pig, goat, chicken and some forestry animals, some endemic fish.

Small farmers in central Vietnam mainly Mong Cai breed, Mini pigs, and SocHighland, be adapted to local conditions which have limited performance and economic efficiency. Genetic improvement of local varieties by the introduction of high performance Mong Cai breed pure lines and exotic breeding program will lead to significant benefits for small farmers if it could be linked to a birth plan-to-finish integrated management (focusing on health, breeding, housing and nutrition) to improve manufacturing parameters and limits health problems.

270 households surveyed and interviewed. After analyzing the survey data, 30 households in Hai Thuong Commune, Phu Hai, Hai Lang district has been selected involved in the project. Each family chose a range from 3 to 15 Mong Cai sows. All households selected for breeding pigs, learning and sharing technical knowledge in the pig production.

Pig production is an expert of farmers in Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam, more than 80% of sows, are kept in small farm holdings. To meet increasing demand for pig husbandry systems for pigs, smaller owners have enhanced breeding and feeding systems, while others tried to continue to produce larger pigs poorly designed facilities.

Prof. Dr. Linh and Toan moved to Department of Fisheries. Dr. Hai replaced by Mr. Middle and Mr. Tuan has been replaced by Ms. Thanh, all in HUAF. A study was carried out at the experimental animal husbandry farm in Can Tho University form October 2005 to March 2006. Water sampling was taken at the high and low tidal in the wet season and dry season. The results showed that water environment of the experimental farm is severely polluted. The average organic amount (COD), hydrogen sulfide, N-NH4+ and total Coliform were 878.9 mg/L, 32 mg/L, 70.4 mg/L and 2.78*105 MPN/100 mL respectively.
