Annual chrysanthemum

The study has revealed that significantly highest number of flowers per plant (28.00), highest flower diameter (7.83 cm) and highest flower yield per hectare (25.25 q) were observed by application of nitrogen at the rate of 200 kg ha-1 in combination with potassium at the rate of 150 kg ha-1 . Non-significant changes were observed in the available organic carbon content in the soil at the end of the experiment when compared with the application of nutrients before the experimentation.

An experiment was carried out at Horticulture Section, College of Agriculture, Nagpur during rabi season of the year 2017-18 to study the effect of nitrogen and potassium on growth and flowering of annual chrysanthemum. The treatment comprised of four levels of nitrogen (0, 100, 150 and 200 kg N ha-1 ) and four levels of potassium (0, 50, 75 and 100 kg ha-1 ) in all sixteen treatments combinations planted in factorial randomized block design with three replications.

An experiment was conducted to study the phenotypic characterization of mutants from different species of annual chrysanthemum by treating the seeds of different species of Chrysanthemum coronarium (Cco), Chrysanthemum segetum (Cse) and Chrysanthemum carinatum (Cca) with various doses of gamma rays (Cobalt-60) at National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow. Immediately after the mutagenic treatment, the nurseries were raised and further transplanted in the field.
