Lactic acid bacteria widely used in food preservation at refrigerator temperatures due to their ability produce high amount of hydrogen peroxide and/or other antibacterial substances at refrigerator temperatures to inhibit food-borne pathogens and psychrophilic spoilage microorganisms. In order to improve of bio-preservation efficacy of Lactobacillus acidophilus GH 201 mutations causing resistance to rifampicin (rif) were used.

Levodopa (biological precursor of dopamine) is sometimes used instead of dopamine for synthesis of highly adhesive polycatecholamine coatings on different materials. However, in comparison of polydopamine, little is known about biological safety of poly(levodopa) coatings and their efficacy in binding of therapeutically active substances.

The isolated phages had plaques with 3–5 mm diameters and a distinct translucent spreading halo. The morphological phage particles were cubic nucleocapsid with 65–75 nm across with short contractile tails. The supplemented cosmetic phages reduced the bacterial growth to 95.45%, compared with free phages and non-supplemented cosmetic 86.1% and 77% respectively.

An experiment was carried out for the assessment of antibacterial efficacy of Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don leaf extract in sewage water. Findings revealed that leaf extract of this plant able to check the growth of both Gram (+) and Gram (-) type of bacteria in sewage water and put forth a thrust for extensive exploration of C. roseus for development of ecofriendly and cost effective methodology for sewage treatment prior to its exposure in any aquatic body or agricultural field.

Under this study, botanicals, plant volatiles, organic acids, organic salts and essential oils were used against E. carotovora subsp. carotovora under in vitro. Based on antibacterial efficacy, curative application was formulated against decay in carrot by dipping under laboratory conditions. Out of these all treatments, EC formulated consortia (cinnamon + lemongrass + thyme) oils at 0.1% given the better results against disease reduction (98.0%), weight loss (3.0%), and preserve the edible nature.

The present investigation was undertaken for in vitro screening of antibacterial activities of different extracts (ethyl acetate, methanol and benzene) of various plant parts of Achyranthes aspera, Azolla pinnata, Cissus quadrangularis. In vitro antibacterial efficacy of plants selected was assessed by well diffusion method against pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli. The ethyl acetate extract of Cissus quadrangularis exhibited highest zone of inhibition against S. aureus (25±1.3mm) followed by Achyranthes aspera (20.0±0.

The unique property of the silver and gold nanoparticles having antibacterial activity drags the major attention towards the present nanotechnology. Synthesis of nanobodies is of great interest in the development of nanotechnological tool for biomedical applications. This study investigates a competent and sustainable route of AgNP and AuNP preparation using Camel milk, well adorned for their wide availability and healing property. The silver and gold nanoparticles were examined by UV-visible spectroscopy (Systonic 2203) that demonstrated a peak at 446 and 551nm respectively.

The present study have been carried out to determine the effect of nanosilver and antibiotics separately and in combination on Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolates. The combined effect of the silver nanoparticles with antibiotics was assessed in comparison to antibiotics, with well diffusion method. It was observed that the collective effect of silver nanoparticles with antibiotics was additive. The activity of the three antibiotics: gentamycine. ampicillin, and tetracycline with nanoparticles, against Pseudomonas aeruginosa was shown as percentage enhancement in antibacterial effect.

The present study was conducted for phytochemical characterization of leaves of Psidium guajava L. and also the antimicrobial potential against canine ootitis externa. Crude solvent extraction was performed with water, chloroform, ethanol and acetone. Phytochemical analysis reported presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, quinines, etc. which are responsible for the antimicrobial activity of the plant. The result was found that, the extracts of Guava leaves were found effective against the growth of test organisms.

The objective of this study was to investigate the antibacterial activity and healing efficacy of Psidium guajava leaf on an excision-wound infected with Staphylococcus aureus using a rat model. The antibacterial activities of the methanol leaf extract alone and combinations of the plant extract with amoxicillin as well as the effect of osmotic stress were determined by using broth microdilution method. The therapeutic effect of the methanol extract was evaluated on an excision-wound infected with Staphylococcus aureus.

The management of Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase producing (KPC) infections represents a major challenge. Several safety and efficacy concerns are shared by available antibiotics used in KPC infections, leading to the occurrence of serious adverse drug reactions (ADRs), with ceftazidime-avibactam possibly showing a more favourable risk-benefit profile.

aqueous plant extracts against storage Bacterial soft rot is one of the most common diseases of vegetables including potato which is found both in field and storage. Although, various micro-organisms are responsible for the soft rot disease in potato but Erwinia carotovora is mostly responsible for this disease. Use of chemical antibiotics on stored products can lead to the development of multidrug resistance in various human pathogenic bacteria causing severe health complications.
