The species belonging to the Lamiaceae family have been useful tools for many years as a folk remedy. In the present study, a microemulsion system was developed with extract of Scutellaria salviifolia Benth (endemic), Sideritis libanotica Labill. subsp. linearis (Bentham) Bornm (endemic), and Ziziphora clinopodioides Lam. Both and related microemulsion formulations were also investigated for their potential biological activities.

In this study, a new formulation based on the combination of two active constituents (zinc pyrithione and triclosan) and an inactive component (carboxymethyl cellulose polymer) was optimized for seed coating to control seed-borne pathogens. According to the in vitro antimicrobial tests, the combination of zinc pyrithione and triclosan showed a broader spectrum of phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi control.

We report herein a new chemical platform for coupling chitosan derivatives to antimicrobial peptide dendrimers (AMPDs) with different degrees of ramification and molecular weights via thiol-maleimide reactions. Previous studies showed that simple incorporation of AMPDs to polymeric hydrogels resulted in a loss of antibacterial activity and augmented cytotoxicity to mammalian cells.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a significant threat to human health globally. Diseases caused by AMR are getting more challenging to cure due to the increasing rate of resistance of microbial pathogens. Drugs formulated with antimicrobial peptide (AMP) can be applied to treat these diseases. AMPs are found naturally within organisms, especially amphibians, and is related to the high adaptability of defence mechanisms against various pathogens and predators in the environment.

The analytical and spectral data supported the binuclear formulation of the complexes with a 2:1 metal to ligand ratio and octahedral geometry. The molar conductance values of the UO2 (II)-complexes revealed their nonionic character. The ligands and their complexes were screened for their antibacterial activities towards the gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus and the gram-negative Escherichia coli, as well as their antifungal activities against Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans, in order to assess their antimicrobial potential.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the antimicrobial efficacy of a natural and organic fogging solution, ZITRITIDE where Citrus aurantium Amara extract (Bioflavonoid Complex) acts as an active ingredient. The antimicrobial efficacy of the formulation at two different concentrations (0.2% and 0.5%) was assessed against eighteen bacteria, and four fungi prevalent in hospital and industrial environment. Both the concentration worked efficiently on gram positive, gram negative, spore forming anaerobic, and spore forming aerobic microorganisms.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a classical opportunistic pathogen with innate resistance to many antibiotics and disinfectants. Clinical samples which yielded Pseudomonas aeruginosa were included in this study. Antibiogram of the isolates was determined by Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. A total of 339 pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated from various clinical samples during the period of study. Majority of the isolates in our study were obtained from Pus / Wound swabs followed by other samples. Resistance to amoxicillin +Clavulinic acid (74.

Infection of sterile body fluid can lead to severe morbidity and mortality. Periodic surveillance and monitoring programmers are helpful for framing the antibiotic policy. The present study was undertaken to evaluate aerobic bacteriological profile along with their antibiogram from various sterile fluids over a period of five years. A total of 1708 body fluid samples were processed according to Standard guidelines and analysed in order to assess the changing trends in bacteriological profile and antibiogram.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a spectrum of airway diseases that has chronic bronchitis at one end and emphysema at other end. COPD is the major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Most of the episodes (80%) of AECOPD are triggered by infections mainly affecting the lower respiratory tract by respiratory viruses, atypical bacteria and aerobic Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria.

Toothpaste is a gel dentifrice used with a toothbrush as an accessory to clean, keep and promote oral hygiene. The literature review suggests that there are many different formulations of toothpastes and that each of their individual components present specific functions. The concentration of the toothpaste ingredients must be appropriately chosen taking into account the purposes of the toothpaste. Biosurfactants are considered as suitable molecules for application in many formulations such as in toothpaste one.

Despite intensive research extending back to the 1930s, when the first syn-thetic antimalarial drugs made their appearance, the repertoire of clinically licensed formulations remains very limited. Moreover, widespread and increasing resistance to these drugs contributes enormously to the difficul-ties in controlling malaria, posing considerable intellectual, technical and humanitarian challenges.
