This study contributes to the scientific data on binary combinations by investigating the synergistic antibacterial activity of the binary combination of MM or MQ EOs with thymol. This research is significant as it contributes to the global effort to combat antimicrobial resistance, providing a potential solution to this pressing public health challenge.

Kháng kháng sinh (Antimicrobial resistance - AMR) là nguyên nhân hàng đầu gây tử vong trên khắp thế giới. Nhằm tăng cường kiểm soát tỷ lệ nhiễm vi khuẩn đa kháng, nhiều giải pháp đã được áp dụng, trong đó có vai trò quan trọng của Dược về sử dụng kháng sinh hợp lý, Vi sinh về phát hiện sớm vi khuẩn mang gen đề kháng kháng sinh và Kiểm soát nhiễm khuẩn về thực hành cách ly phòng tránh lây nhiễm chéo. Bài viết trình bày đánh giá hiệu quả quy trình kiểm soát nhiễm vi khuẩn đa kháng có phối hợp giữa chương trình kiểm soát nhiễm khuẩn và quản lý sử dụng kháng sinh.

This study aimed to quantify the phenolic contents and the antioxidant capacities of leaf extract powders from three Myrtaceae plants, namely Cleistocalyx operculatus (Vietnamese name: Vối), Psidium guajava (Ổi), and Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Sim), investigate their inhibitive activities on the growth of bacteria isolated from spoiled shrimps, and evaluate their values as preservative agents in the cold storage of Pacific whiteleg shrimps (Penaeus vannamei).

Salicylic acid (SA), sodium benzoate (SB), phenoxyethanol (PO), and benzyl alcohol (BA) are “non paraben” preservatives commonly used in cosmetic products like shampoos, and often in combination of at least two compounds to assure their antimicrobial effectiveness at low concentrations. In this study, an HPLC-DAD method was developed and validated for simultaneous determination of SA, SB, PO, and BA in commercial shampoos.

A total of 319 nasal swab samples were collected to clarify the prevalence and antimicrobial susceptibility of E. coli in the respiratory tract of goats in Can Tho, Vietnam. It indicated that E. coli was detected at a relatively minor rate (8.46%), and their prevalence in male goats and dairy goats was higher than that in others.
