Apple mosaic virus

Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) and apple mosaic virus (ApMV) are among the most widespread and economically important ilarviruses in stone fruits. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine the incidence of PNRSV and ApMV in peach, plum and apricot grown in the major stone fruit growing areas in the districts of Solan, Sirmour, Shimla and Kullu in Himachal Pradesh, India during active growing seasons of 2017 and 2018. Field surveys were carried out to assess the sanitary status of major stone fruits. Both ilarviruses were detected in all stone fruit species tested.

Plant samples were collected from the main apple growing provinces of Turkey in order to evaluate the incidence of 4 important apple virus diseases during spring 2004. Collected leaves and shoots were tested using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for Apple mosaic virus (ApMV), Apple stem grooving virus (ASGV) and Apple chlorotic leaf spot virus (ACLSV).

Two main apple growing provinces (Van and Malatya) of East Anatolia were surveyed for the presence of the Apple mosaic virus (ApMV). Dot-blot hybridization and RT-PCR tests were implemented to investigate the incidence of ApMV, testing a total of 481 samples collected from commercial apple orchards.
