Applying technology 4.0

Linseed and mustard are the most important prehistoric crops in the world, usually cultivated as major rabi oilseeds in India. The major constraints for low productivity are inadequate supply of nutrients and poor production practices. Technological demonstrations on linseed and mustard were conducted at 58 locations covering 24.4 ha area in participatory mode using improved linseed cultivar JLS 9, JLS 23 and mustard (pusa mahak) during 2007-08 to 2011-12.

A field experiment and laboratory experiment was conducted in Split Plot Design with three replications during 2011-12 and 2012-13 on Indian mustard variety Urvashi at New Dairy Farm, Kalyanpur, Kanpur and Seed Testing Laboratory of Department of Seed Science and Technology, respectively. Six doses of zinc and sulphur viz. 0.0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, 10.0, 12.5 Kg ha-1 and 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 Kg ha-1 , respectively were applied as basal dose.

Five kabuli chickpea genotypes and desi chickpea genotypes were grown during rabi season of 2010-11 at Student’s Instructional Farm of N.D. University of Agriculture & Technology, Faizabad. 0 ppm (control condition), 15 ppm and 30 ppm concentrations of GA3 were applied as foliar application at flower initiation stage (65-70 days after sowing) to the plants.

The field experiment was conducted during summer season of 2018 at the Bagusala Farm of MS Swaminathan School of Agriculture, Centurion University of Technology and Management, Gajapathi district, Paralakhemundi, Odisha (84.18’N longitude and 18.80’ E latitude). The mean minimum and maximum temperatures were 210C and 310C respectively. The soil at the experimental site is sandy loam in texture. The soil is slightly acidic in reaction (6.2), normal in electrical conductivity, low in organic carbon (0.41%), available nitrogen is 76.2 kg/ha, with 21.3 kg/ha of available phosphorus and 126.

District Etawah falls in western part of Uttar Pradesh. The district has 8 blocks and 696 villages. The net sown area of the district is 1.48 lakh ha with cropping intensity of 210 %. Normal annual rainfall of the district is 792 mm. Three main levels of mechanization technologies need consideration: human power, animal power and mechanical power technologies, with varying degrees of sophistication within each level, on the basis of capacity to do work, costs, precision and effectiveness.

The gelechiid Pectinophora gossypiella (Saunders) is a limiting factor in Bt cotton production and has been reported to cause locule damage to an extent of 55 per cent and reduction in seed cotton yield in the range of 35- 90 per cent (Narayanan, 1962). By and large, pesticides are used as a major weapon for combating this pest damage. In India, total insecticides used to control bollworms alone were 9410 MT in the year 2003-04, worth of 747.6 crores (Kranthi, 2012).

In combination of all experiments, the optimum operating conditions were achieved as iron electrodes, current intensity of 3A, electrolysis time of 40 min, the raw pH with iron electrodes, resulting the maximum COD removal efficiencies of 73.21 %. As a result, the electrocoagulation can be applied to leachate pre-treatment.

In this study, the isotactic polypropylene, a semicrystalline polymer, was used as a matrix for composites containing 20% and 40% (by weight) of glass bead filler. Selected surface treatment was applied to obtain different adhesion between particles and polymer matrix. In addition to non-treated filler, filler treated with i) a release agent (labelled as NO adhesion) and ii) an adhesion promoter (labelled as GOOD adhesion) were incorporated into the matrix.

Several European cases highlight to varying degrees the roles of direct and indirect crossborder credit in the course of the global credit boom of the 2000s (Graph 1). Direct crossborder credit to non-banks in Ireland (dark shaded area), for example, grew at roughly 40% year on year in the three years prior to the crisis (centre panel), 10 percentage points above the rate for domestic bank credit. Moreover, banks in Ireland drew on indirect cross-border credit (left-hand panel, dashed brown line) to support their domestic lending.

Radiation therapy is based heavily on fields such as physics, mathematics, computer science and radiation biology as well as electrical and mechanical engineering, making it a truly interdisciplinary field, unparalleled by any other clinical discipline. Now radiation therapy can be applied so safely, precisely and efficiently that the previously feared side effects no longer play a role.
