This paper presents the results of water quality assessment of clam farming areas for 3 monitoring points in Tien Hai district, Thai Binh province. From the results of the assessment, this study suggests management measures, including improving water quality index used to zoning water quality, thus better managing clam areas; and technical measure which improves farming techniques to protect the aquatic environment of farmers.

Modeling approach has considered as an effective alternative method for environmental risk assessment in recent decades. This work aimed to assess the pesticide fate and transport from rice paddy which has higher potential of pesticide runoff compared to upland fields as reported in previous studies. The study area was the Sakura River watershed, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.

In recent years, the understanding of processes on material surfaces has drawn considerable interest from scientists. The adsorption stage is important for further insights into surface interactions and photocatalytic reactions. In this study, we use density functional theory computations to investigate the adsorption of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) molecules on the rutile-TiO2 (001) surface (r-TiO2 ).

Manufactured dyes are notably troublesome chemical toxins. The industrial wastes of these dyes are exceedingly noxious to aerobic and aquatic life and can cause compounds that show carcinogenic, mutagenic, and neurotoxic effects. In this study, cadmium imidazolate frameworks were synthesized by a solvothermal method from cadmium acetate and 2-methylimidazole in an ethanol/methanol mixture.

Microplastics present in high density in coastal marine environments have been reported by many published works worldwide. Microplastic presence poses a major threat to all organisms that come into direct contact with them in the aquatic environment because they are non-biodegradable and adsorbable to some toxic substances.

Compare to other documents, our study was for the first time validated the quality criteria of ICP-MS for analyzing nineteen metal levels in wastewater samples. The application of this method was then tested by analyzing nineteen metal levels in twenty-three wastewater samples in the Tham Luong Canal in Ho Chi Minh City. Based on these results, the correlation of the concentration of these metals in wastewater samples was determined.

This study aimed to enhance our insight on the potential toxicological effects of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) into the aquatic environment. To investigate the chronic toxicity of nanoparticles, freshwater micro-crustacean Daphnia lumholtzi was exposed to different concentrations of 0.2, 0.5 µg/l AgNPs, and control, for 21 days.

In this paper, we present a recent study in the adsorption of uranium from an aquatic environment by reduced graphene oxide - Cu0.5Ni0.5Fe2O4 ferrite – polyaniline (RGO/CNF/PANI) composite. Uranium concentration was carried out by batch techniques. The effect of pH, contact time, concentration of equilibrium state and reusability on uranium adsorption capacity have been studied.

Goldfish (Carassius auratus) may survive in aquatic environments with low oxygen partial pressures. We investigated the contribution of respiratory proteins to hypoxia tolerance inC. auratus. We determined the complete coding sequence of hemoglobinaandband myoglobin, as well as partial cDNAs from neuroglobin and cytoglobin.

The purpose of the study was to analyze the current practice of shrimp farming in the north central Vietnam, to evaluate the status of agricultural production and economic conditions - social and environment, and determine the limit application of better management practices. The report presents the results of a survey of 90 shrimp farmers in north-central provinces of Vietnam (Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Thua Thien-Hue). Shrimp production costs mainly by feeding (average 65% of total cost) for different varieties of food between provinces.

A variety of organisms have been investigated to evaluate their potential as biological indicators of different forms of pollution in the aquatic environment (e.g. review by Gunkel 1994). Certain species have been identified as being highly sensitive either in their physiological response to aquatic contaminants or in their ability to accumulate particular toxins in a dose-time dependent manner.

Aquaculture, also known as aquafarming, is the farming of aquatic organisms such as fish, crustaceans, molluscs and aquatic plants.[1][2] Aquaculture involves cultivating freshwater and saltwater populations under controlled conditions, and can be contrasted with commercial fishing, which is the harvesting of wild fish.[3] Mariculture refers to aquaculture practiced in marine environments and in underwater habitats.
