  • An investigation is carried out to analyze the irrigation water quality in 26 villages in Bapatlamandal for their quality parameters and comprehensively arriving at a single water quality index. The irrigation water samples were collected manually from the bore wells which are approximately equally distributed all over 26 villages of Bapatla region. The samples were analyzed using standard procedures in the laboratory (APHA, 1985).

  • Finger millet is an excellent source of mineral elements specifically calcium and iron. The iron content in the ruling variety, GPU-28 is 5.47 mg/100g. Identification of germplasm lines superior to GPU-28 would help in identifying nutritionally superior genotypes and also to serve as genetic resource for recombination breeding. For such screening, use of appropriate procedure and bench mark values are highly useful. Hence, the present study was conducted to confirm the estimation procedure and to arrive at bench mark values for grain iron content in popular varieties.

  • The proposed analytical model successfully captures the key characteristic of a reliable power saving system: the data delivery procedure starts periodically at the previously negotiated time, but ends at a rather random time with its distribution depending on the end time of data delivery in the last delivery period as well as the arrival rate of incoming traffic.

  • In a recent paper, Ouyang et al. proposed a (Q,r,L) inventory model, with defective items in an arrival lot. The purpose of this study is to generalize Ouyang et al.’s model by allowing setup cost (A) as a decision variable in conjunction withorder quantity (Q), reorder point (r) and lead time (L). In this study, we first assumethat the lead time demand follows a normal distribution, and then relax this assumption by only assuming that the first two moments of the lead time demand are given. For each case, an algorithm procedure of finding the optimal solution is developed.

  • But marsupials did not die out entirely. Another group of North American marsupials dispersed to South America around 70 million years ago. From there, they expanded into Antarctica and Australia, both of which were attached to South America at the time. Marsupials arrived in Australia no later than 55 mil- lion years ago, the age of the oldest marsupial fossils found there. Later, South America, Antarctica, and Australia began to drift apart, each carrying with it a population of marsupials. The fossil record shows that marsupials were still in Antarctica 40 million years ago.

  • Descriptive characteristics of both cohorts and results of the follow up procedure are presented in Table 1. The Saarland cohort was approximately half the size of the cohort in NRW. Females were slightly overrepresented in both cohorts. The arrival period for entering the cohort was four years longer for the Saarland cohort. The NRW study population was restricted by age at migration of 15 years or older, whereas the Saarland cohort had no age restriction. Thus, the Saarland cohort was on average younger.

  • The dataset contains information on name, date of birth, date of arrival in Germany, sex, country of origin, first city of residence and a unique code that identified members of the same family. After sample size calculation the cohort was restricted to a representative sample of 34,393 Aussiedler who were at least 15 years old when they migrated to Germany. To ascertain vital status of each cohort member until the 31st December 2005 a follow up procedure was performed: Letters were sent to local registry offices in the cities of residence.
