The objective of this study was to develop a technique for collecting and analyzing volatile arsenic species including arsine (AsH3), methyl arsine (CH3AsH2), dimethyl arsine (CH3)2AsH, and trimethyl arsine (CH3)3As emitted from paddy soil. The four volatile arsenic species were captured on AgNO3-impregnated sand then eluted and quantified. The AgNO3-impregnated sand was synthesized by crystallizing AgNO3 on 0.5-1 mm id. sandy particles at 70 oC.

A glassy carbon electrode, modified with gold nanoparticles/over-oxidized poly-eriochrome black T film, was fabricated for sensitive determination of As(III) by stripping voltammetry in an acidic medium. The electrode surface properties were characterized by cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

This paper aimed to determine the grey water footprint (GWF) of geothermal water resources and to investigate the effect of biochar adsorption on grey water footprint in Southeastern Turkey. In this paper, GWF has been calculated in terms of iron (Fe), arsenic (As), manganese (Mn), boron (B), and chrome (Cr) concentrations for fifteen observation geothermal resources located in Southeastern Anatolia Region. In this study, a new approach based on the GWF was developed in order to determine the geothermal water pollution.

Haliaeetus albicilla is a top raptor that can be used as a model for contaminants transfer in trophic chain. In this study we studied the accumulation of three contaminants on feathers from breeding individuals of white-tailed sea-eagle collected between 2012 and 2018 in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve and its surroundings. The concentrations of two heavy metals (chromium, cadmium) and one metalloid (arsenic) were determined by inductively coupled mass spectrometry. Chromium concentrations ranged from 0.32 to 1.33 mg/kg for juveniles and between 0.68 to 2.

In this study, the content of As, Cd and Hg in fruiting bodies was determined. These three elements were determined in 94 Macrolepiota procera (Scop.) Singer samples (separately for caps and stems) and their corresponding soils/substrates collected from 8 different localities in Slovakia. Arsenic and cadmium were analyzed by Optical Emission Spectrometry with Inductively Coupled Plasma (OESICP), and mercury by Advanced Mercury Analyzer (AMA-254). In the soil/substrate As content varied from ND (not detected) to 11.9, Cd from 0.66 to 22.9 and Hg from 0.02 to 0.

The paper describes a novel dip-and-gauge hand-held sensor device for the rapid, cost-effective, and on-site detection of bisphenol A and arsenic in drinking water samples. Different working electrode diameters ranging from 1.5 mm to 4 mm were designed and fabricated to construct a new electrochemical biosensor. The sensor was employed for the chronoamperometric detection of bisphenol A and voltammetric determination of arsenic in drinking water samples. Bisphenol A measurements resulted in a detection limit of 10 ng mL−1 with a linear range of 0–4000 ng mL−1.

The present study was undertaken to assess the damage caused by heavy metals, arsenic and chromium in slaughtered buffaloes. The assessment of adverse effects of these heavy metals in tissues (Liver, kidney, pancreas, and ovary) and blood have been determined by the expression of metallothionein, antioxidants and biochemical parameters. Tissue and blood samples were collected from buffaloes (n=50) from local abattoir to assess the level of arsenic and chromium.

Urban lake pollution is one of the serious issues due to suffering of waste discharged from householders. However, there is a gap of knowledge about the diversity of zooplankton species and how metals accumulate in zooplankton in urban ecosystems. We addressed this by determining the rule of blooming macro-zooplankton in the Truc Bach lake and levels of two essential metals: copper (Cu), and zinc (Zn) and of three non-essential metals: arsenic (As), and lead (Pb) in water samples were determined.

Arsenic is a potential contaminant of groundwater as well as soil in many parts of the world. Elevated soil arsenic levels resulting from long-term use of arsenic contaminated ground water for irrigation may inhibit seed germination and seedling establishment of rice, the country’s main food crop. An experiment was conducted to determine response of rice (Oryza sativa L) to arsenate and arsenite stress. For this purpose seeds were treated with 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 ppm of arsenate and arsenite solution individually.

Adsorption is one of the primary processes for removing arsenic from drinking water. This study focuses on developing inexpensive and effective adsorbents to remove arsenic from ground water. Eight different types of adsorbents were prepared. Some of these materials were chemically modified. The efficiency of percentage adsorption of arsenite, As(+III) on different materials were investigated at different pH, contact time and initial concentrations. Out of eight different types of adsorbents, the iron-loaded xanthated orange waste (Fe-XOW) showed high efficiency for the removal of arsenic.

In this study, arsenic concentration in water, sediment, fish and plant collected from a wastewater fed-fish pond in Hoang Mai district, Ha Noi, Vietnam were determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GF/AAS). Arsenic concentration in water collected from inlet and outlet sites of the pond were of 45.86 and 23.22 µg/L, respectively and those levels were higher than the Vietnamese standard.

The preconcentration method of mercury and arsenic in the ground water samples by co-precipitation with PbS was developed. In the range of HCl concentrations from 0.1 - 0.6M and 10 mg of Pb as a collector in the sulphite form after adding 2% thioacetamide solution, the traces of mercury and arsenic were quantitatively separated from a large volume water sample (200 ml). This method has been applied for determination of mercury and arsenic traces in the ground water samples collected in Ho Chi Minh City by neutron activation analysis. The method is simple, rapid and reliable.

A method for determination of arsenic species in environmental samples have been studied (water and sediment of Nhatrang onshore). The analytical method used was ion-exchange liquid chromatography coupled on-line to atomic absorption pectrometry through hydride generation. It was applied to determination of As species in H3PO4+NH2OH.HCl extracts of sediments. The efficiency of this extraction procedure was studied in details. The sensibility of this investigated method allows both the analysis of As-poor samples and the dilution extracts, of As-rich ones.

A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of arsenic using variamine blue as a chromogenic reagent. The method is based on the reaction of arsenic(III) with potassium iodate in acid medium to liberate iodine, which oxidizes variamine blue to form a violet coloured species having an absorption maximum at 556 nm.
