Two major areas of the scorecard development process were identified as having much capacity for improving credit scoring models. These are the application of 1) better classifiers and 2) variable selection techniques. However, the application of an artificial immune system for developing scorecards as well as the use of other variable selection techniques, other than stepwise regression, in credit scoring are quite limited as indicated by the scarcity of published materials in these two areas in the current literature.

This paper describes an artificial immune system approach (AIS) to modelling time-dependent (dynamic, real time) transportation phenomenon characterized by uncertainty. The basic idea behind this research is to develop the Artificial Immune System, which generates a set of antibodies (decisions, control actions) that altogether can successfully cover a wide range of potential situations. The proposed artificial immune system develops antibodies (the best control strategies) for different antigens (different traffic "scenarios").

This paper presents the author's research in improving the negative selection algorithm to increase the performance of AIS applications for detecting computer virus. Our algorithm’s time complexity is equal to and its space complexity is less than those mentioned in [7].

We present a novel data structure for extracting data from protected self set. That helps to produce all possible detectors, or a complete detector repertoire, with lower time and space complexities compare to recent novel approaches. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that our approach is effective and feasible. These new valuable characteristics can make complex AIS have the highest ability to detect data changes and to reduce false detection.
